(081: Prelude To Chaos)

Song of Chapter: Broken by Isak Danielson

From the title, I'm sure you can already tell that this is where things start to get really interesting🌚. And giving where the last chapter ended... things are about to get really interesting.

How do you think Jidenna will react to Beauty's confession? Better still, how do you think Hilary will react to Beauty's confession?

You can start speculating before you jump into the story. It makes things sweeter. Me, I'm here for the conspiracy theories like mad! 🤭😌.

It was the signature high fro punk haircut that gave him away.

Not even his face, because his face was half-shadowed by the amber flicker of wall lights. Not his stance as well, because the lazy slouch in his posture wasn't something I have ever related to him. Not even the neon-red solo cup in his hand.

It was the punk haircut... and perhaps the wide forehead, but I digress.

That was Collins.

And just like that, something clicked in my head with a loud, echoing thud.

"Wait," I said out loud, cutting through Simi's rant about how Tekena Tamuno might chop correct beating this night if he wasn't careful. "When did Collins get here?"

Simi blinked at me for a minute, as if trying to register the question I just asked that had absolutely nothing to do with his rant.

Then he shook his head.

"Uh... I don't know?" He looked thoughtful, the tip of his fingers stroking the skin of my arm absentmindedly. "I think I saw him when we first came in, so I'm thinking even before we were here," he said.

"Before we got here?" I blinked, shocked.

Because how was I just noticing him?

Collins Osahon Odion was usually the life of the party, every single party, and should have been at the forefront of this party from the moment it started, yelling and hyping every single person, especially the birthday boy.

Collins who usually couldn't go ten minutes without breaking into a dance battle with someone's uncle.

Collins who was always front and center, orchestrating chaos with a single Snapchat and a smile that could disarm military-grade fury.

The same Collins who once did a full worm slide across a party floor in white jeans because someone had the effrontery and audacity... the impetus, to dare him.
