Chapter 7: Rescuing Luke

CHAPTER 7: RESCUING LUKE

SAM'S POV

"No!" I cried when Envy and Pride took Luke away. They didn't seem to notice me, Sean, Shanna, Anastasia, Landon, or Josh.
All of us burst into craziness. Then Shanna yelled, "CALM DOWN!"
Nobody shouted or ran around after that. I got up on a stool and said, "Listen. Either Luke's dead or really hurt. No matter what, we have to help him."
Anastasia stood up too. "Sam, I trusted you earlier, but this time, it won't work! There are guards everywhere, and don't forget the Sins. Luke is dead, we all saw it! Even you saw it! So even though you may think we can help, we're dead either way. Even if we're not right now, we're dead, Sam." she said.
"NO! I WILL NEVER BELIEVE THAT! I KNOW LUKE IS ALIVE! I will even prove it!" I was about to go out on my own when Shanna touched my shoulder.
"Sam, you made your point. And we'll help you. Right?" she glared at everyone else.
I guess everyone got scared of Shanna's glare, because even Anastasia said, "Y-yes, Shanna." Then she looked at me, and told me, "Sorry I was harsh. I guess I'm just sick and tired of being stuck here! I want to go home, back to my friends, my family-" and burst into tears.
I patted her shoulder. "We will get home, Anastasia. I promise." Even Landon seemed helpful. "Sam's right. Let's think of ideas." he said.
So a few minutes later, in our cubby, I FINALLY came up with a plan. I told everyone, "Okay, I have a plan. It will take all of us, though. Sean and Shanna, your job is to break through the walls, so we can get out. Josh, you need to help us find the key out of here with your invisibility. Anastasia, I saw a guard blocking the room where Luke's body is. We'll need you to get past him." Anastasia got a worried look on her face. "Don't worry, I'll help you. Once we find Luke, me and Landon will find a way out. And I think we're ready if anybody sees us. Who's in?" I stuck out my hand. Everyone reached in.
I knew we would all be desperate to escape.

SHANNA'S POV

I was nervous for breaking through the cell walls. What if me and Sean got spotted? Or if the noise was loud and someone heard? I especially didn't want Envy to see me. I STILL have scars from when he beat me last week (or two weeks? I can't keep track).
Sean and I looked at each other. I punched the wall and closed my eyes. Sean did more damage after I did. Surprisingly, no one came.
"Go, go, go!" Sam whispered urgently to everyone. We all went through the opening.
Meanwhile, something apparently caught Josh's attention. He told us, "Guys, I see a storage room."
As tempted as I was, I didn't feel like going in. But then, I saw something shiny. A key!
"Guys, I found the key!" I whispered excitedly. Josh became invisible and snuck in with Landon and Sam. A few seconds later they came out with the key.
We traveled further, with Sam of course being the leader. If Luke were here, he'd be the leader, I thought. Then I heard a very surprising, scary, familiar voice. "WARNING! ESCAPEES!" It was Envy and the other Sins!
I looked at Sam. He looked unprepared. "Um, I think we should run!" he said.
So we took off. Another voice, who I assumed was Greed, yelled, "STOP THEM!"
With the Sins in pursuit, the six of us ran down the hallway. Sean yelled, "We'll never outrun them!"
Sam yelled back, "We're not trying to! We need to find Luke so we can get past the Sins!"
Pride yelled, "Oh shut up, idiots! You can never defeat us! We'll always come back!" Envy added, "And Luke is in a very secret place! You'll never find him! By the time you kids are done, he'll be dead and in Gluttony's belly!"
"CAN YOU NOT TRY TO KILL US FOR ONE DAY?" Sam yelled.
After that, for some reason, I looked behind me, and the Sins were gone. I breathed a sigh of relief. I think all of us were relieved.
"Let's move on," Anastasia said, "before they find us again."

ANASTASIA'S POV

I was nervous for the next part of the mission. Even after an hour of preparing myself, I wasn't ready for getting past the guard. Sam walked with me over there. He told me, "If you don't want to do this, I'll ask Sean and Shanna-"
I interrupted him. "No Sam, I have to do this. For the team."
Just then, Landon tapped me on the shoulder. I jumped back. "LANDON! You scared me!" I yelled.
"Sorry," Landon said sheepishly. "I just wanted to wish you and Sam good luck."
"Thanks." me and Sam both said.
So we walked on down. I strutted, twirled, and winked at the guard. The guard seemed to be hypnotized. I asked, "How are you, sweet boy?" I felt way embarrassed, but the guard said, "Not bad, after seeing a chick like you."
NOW I knew where I've seen this guy. He was the teenager I saw that one time!
I asked, "Now would you be kind enough to let a lady through?". To my surprise, the guard scooted over. Then Sam knocked him down. He yelled to everyone, "Come on! Go!"
When we found Luke, he was laying down and seemed to be alive. I shook him, and he jumped up and yelled, "WHAT THE HECK? I"M OKAY, GUYS!"
Shanna reassured, "Relax, Luke. We're rescuing you."
Luke stood up. "I don't need any rescuing! You guys need to head back; the Sins will be here any minute!"
"Come ON!" I grabbed Luke's hand and ran. The rest of us ran, too.
But guess who we ran into? Envy and his stupid Sins friends.
"THERE THEY ARE! GET THEM!" Envy yelled. This time, we were all ready. "Oh, it's on now." Sam threatened.
I got my fighting self ready.

SEAN'S POV

As the Sins started to charge, I glanced at Shanna. She nodded, and we both ran at the the Sins, as planned. I took the first one- Gluttony- out with a punch to the jaw. He crumpled to the floor. Beside me, Shanna was doing the same.
We knocked out a few more of the extra guards, clearing the way for the rest of the gang. "Go, GO!" Shanna said, waving them on. They ran ahead to the next wave of guards, taking them all down.
Sam, me, and Josh all got cornered by Pride, Sloth, and Lust. Sam got some jetpacks out, and blasted off with everyone. Me and Shanna ran for the door. Sam dug in his pockets. He yelled, "WHERE'S THE KEY?"
All of us shook our heads. Anastasia said, "It must've fallen out of your pocket!"
I shook my head. "Let me handle this." I punched the gate open. "Come on!" I urgently yelled.
When we got out, we were all out of breath, tired, and exhausted. Luke panted out, "Let's just, get out before the Sins find us."
But I heard someone crying. I turned to see a girl on the ground, weeping.
