Savannah
My nerves were on high alert as it was the very first day of tour. The tickets were sold, the fans had already started lining up the few nights before, and the excitement was getting to everyone.
Currently, I was smiling and taking picture with the fans as I had walked around the arena before I was needed to get ready. The 5 Seconds of Summer boys were doing their sound check now, so once I was done taking photos, I went to catch the last few songs and them being silly.
I stood by a side door watching them throw some banter around. Seeing them together kind of made me want to be a member in a band instead, but I was happy with it just being me.
"There you are!" Mason's hand gripped my forearm tightly. I had forgotten that he was roaming around here too.
"Mason, not here, someone could be watching." I panicked as he tightened his grip; hopefully no one was watching what was going on.
"I don't care, what the fuck are you doing out here?" My eyes looked around, seeing that people weren't paying attention instead they were all staring at the stage where Michael was yelling at Luke.
"I was taking pictures with fans." I mumbled, hoping that he would loosen his grip. He shook his head and mumbled something about me being out and not with him. I felt the fire in my veins, how dare him! These were the people who got me where I am now.
"Mason, I have to interact with them, I can't stay in a room with you all the time." I snapped.
My face instantly paled, I just fucked myself with saying that. His hand squeezed my arm tighter, causing the bruises that were still there to erupt with pain; most likely causing them to gain color and become bigger.
"Stop, you're hurting me." He ignored me, a hard, icy glare set on his face. If I looked hard enough I could probably see the steam coming out of his ears. "I swear, Savannah. You don't ever want to talk back to me again. You he-."
His threat was cut off by the sound of my managers voice sounding from the side of the stage. "Savannah, it's time for you to run your sound check."
I know Mason felt the many eyes of fans on us now because his hand immediately let go of my arm and he was stocking away from me and heading towards the exit. I cleared my throat to get the lump gone before turning around and heading to the stairs at the side of the stage.
It was then that I noticed Michael and Ashton standing beside his drum set. Both of them gave me looks as I approached the middle of the stage but I ignored them as I looked forward, waiting on my band to get into their positions.
"Hey, Savannah, are you okay?" Ashton asked quietly. I nodded my head slowly, trying to keep my emotions in check. "Yeah, of course." I put a smile on my face, hoping to convince him a bit more, he didn't seem like he did but knew that he couldn't say more about it.
"Okay then." I watched him give me a look before he walked back to his band mate.
The whole time he was standing there I just wished to actually tell him what was going on but I know I couldn't do that without it causing massive problems for me so instead I looked away, seeing the few fans and empty chairs in front of me, that would soon be packed with more people.
I was running so late. After having dinner with Mason today, he got a phone call from his dad explaining of his mom being sick because she wasn't taking the Chemo Therapy well and they told him that he should come back home.
As hard as it was for him, he asked me to stay for the tour since it was a big opportunity for me. I couldn't be mad since he just wanted to be around his family at this time and it was the first night on tour so I couldn't exactly leave them hanging here.
In a haste, Mason had his clothes packed and a ticket in his hands as his flight number was called. Now I was in a rush through the multiple hallways as Amy was working on my hair and make-up while a stage hand was working to hook up and put in my ear pieces.
While I was being poked and pushed in different ways, I took notice that I wasn't able to change out of the clothes I had been wearing earlier. Thankfully, my bruises weren't fully coming back or gaining size yet so I was able to wear a short sleeved shirt without having to worry; tomorrow would be a different story though.
Before I knew it I was being pushed onto the stage. The nerves hit me then as I looked out into the crowd but it washed away as they screamed at me when I introduced myself.
"Hey y'all!" I said into the microphone. "I'm Savannah and for the next forty minutes I'm going to be here to entertain you!" I was excited now as I waved to the fans as the band picked up the notes to the first song on my set list; That's What You Get.
My chest tightened as I watched the fans scream along to the words and dancing around. It made me smile. I followed their lead, dancing around on the stage, making sure that I went to both sides so I kept the whole crowd happy and entertained.
Once the song finished, I took to the middle of the stage, trying to control my breathing. I grabbed a water bottle, taking a quick sip before setting it back down and addressing the crowd.
"I know we just started but I must say that you guys are so amazing and I'm so happy to see you guys on your feet and dancing and singing along to the lyrics." I grinned, gazing about to look at all the faces and signs.
"Before I get too sappy on you guys let's move onto the next song. Here's Are You Happy Now!"
The crowd roared as I finished my little talk. As I went through the next few songs I couldn't help but have a feeling of pure joy setting on my shoulders. All of these things I wished for when writing these songs were finally coming true.
The fans were singing along, smiling and crying, some of them had signs up with my name and other things related to me; plus the songs were really connecting to people. Even if it was just the first show, I know that this tour is going to change my life.
As the chords to the song ended, I placed my microphone into the stand, grabbing my phone from my back pocket. "Before this last song begins I was thinking about taking a selfie with you guys, if that's cool?" Again screams erupted in front of me. I chuckled as I opened my phone and went to the camera.
Right before I snapped the picture, the screams become really loud.
"Did I hear the word selfie?" Ashton's voice came from my side. I chuckled as the four guys walked over and stood beside me. "I'm saddened that you didn't invite me to this photo session!" Calum pouted jokingly into his microphone.
I rolled my eyes.
"Would you like to join?" I asked sarcastically, already knowing the answer.
"Don't mind if we do." Michael joked as they all crowded around me while I held up my phone. I really should have had someone else take it for us but oh well. Once I deemed the photo as good I turned to the four guys with me on stage.
"Okay, now get out of here. It's still my time you weirdos." I sassed causing the amount of screams to turn into laughter. Michael had stopped by me before going to the back.
"I like you're shirt." He told me, the mic catching it and causing fans to go even crazier. I couldn't help but smile at him.
Oh gosh, I haven't updated in forever and I'm literally so sorry! My laptop has finally died and I have to come to the library to type up an update. So that's why I haven't updated as much. Anyway, I hope you're liking! This chapter is dedicated to @pinkzebraluvr. She's an amazing friend of mine and her story is really good so maybe go check her story out and follow her? It'd mean a lot to me!
But I'll try to update more! :)
