@Kat761957 request "Sirius has chronic stomach pains from being cursed so frequently" being the main idea, 5000 words, will be a mix of Jegulus & Wolfstar <3
Sirius stood in the quidditch change rooms, wincing at the pain as he held his side. It was the first day back, Sirius couldn't tell anyone about this. He looked down at his torso, a bruising mess growing across his stomach.
"Hey Pads! Ah feels so good to be back out on the pitch after the break, a shame you didn't come visit Pete and I over Christmas. I made Pete fly with me almost every morning! Should probably buy him something to make up for it"
James rubbed the back of his neck, his golden retriever energy and bright smile making everything in Sirius' world hurt less for just a moment as Sirius listened to James ramble on about quidditch and how excited he was to see Sirius and Remus again.
Remus.
Sirius hadn't gotten to see Remus yet, he was coming in late because the night before the first day back was a full moon. Minnie was waiting for him at the station though and Sirius was hoping he would be back at the dorms by now.
"Hey Sirius, you alright? You seem a bit off today"
Sirius realised he hadn't been making proper eye contact with James and was still focusing on his side, he quickly withdrew his hands and looked up with a smile,
"Yeah James, I'm alright just-" Sirius tried thinking of something that would make James laugh or at least divert his attention away from Sirius' real issues, "just missing my Moony! Where on earth is he?" Sirius clutched at his shirt dramatically and flailed an arm towards James, who was laughing.
"Come on you love sick dork, he's probably back by now! Oh I have to tell him about the record shop in Hogsmeade, don't let me forget!"
The two left the quidditch change rooms and continued talking, as they walked up the steps towards the castle the two Gryffindors then caught sight of the Slytherin team making their way down the steps, towards the pitch.
As James and Sirius passed their opponents, they watched as Regulus stopped, gesturing for his team to keep moving as he turned back to Sirius and James. Regulus approached them and James swore he could cut the tension with a knife.
"Potter."
"Regulus. To what do I owe this pleasure?"
Regulus breath hitched as he made eye contact with James, quickly remembering his brother was here though and that this wasn't the hidden corners of the school he'd find himself interlocked with James in.
"Just wondered if you thought more on my offer"
"What offer?" Sirius suddenly interrupted, his rougher tone coming out as he felt the pain strike up through the abrupt movement.
Regulus noticed Sirius' eyes as he winced and the quick hand movement to his side, Sirius retracting and straightening himself back up when he noticed Regulus staring at him, "I'm fine."
"I offered to train with James, we're both going to be seekers this season, and our captains thought it would be a good idea for each house to mingle"
"Doesn't that defeat the whole competitive thing?"
"Maybe, but it's to make the loses less sore, apparently certain team members from houses have been causing issues."
"Care to elaborate?"
"I know one's a Gryffindor, because I've met the cocky bastard. Don't have much on the other three though, I imagine there's one in each house."
Sirius and Regulus were just staring at each other, James didn't know what to do or say because he felt like no matter his answer, one of them would end up annoyed or offended. Dramatic, both of them.
