We found shelter at a small roadside inn called 'All Around Georgia'. Crappy name, not so crappy supplies. I expressed my feeling of disgust for the newbies and that I didn't want to room with them multiple times to Daryl and finally he let me share a room with Carl and Clementine.
"Hey," Daryl said lightly tapping my arm. "No funny buisness." He stared at me with a serious glare and I raised my eyebrows.
"Same goes for you, mister," I said giggling. "We don't need anymore fucking kids."
"Watch your language," he gruffed. I leaned back a bit in surprise at how serious and mean he was acting.
"What's wrong with you, Daryl?" I asked folding my arms. "You're acting like-" I gulped and looked at the ground and he caught on to what I was hinting at.
"I'm sorry," he apologized in a lighter tone. "There's just...a lot on my mind."
"Please lighten up before I have to kick some sense up your ass," I said before I walked away.
I made my way to our room and glanced over at Carl who was talking to Jailyn, the new girl who was about a year or two younger than us. He had a hard and uninterested look on his face while she was chatting it up with him and giggling like everything was the same as before. It was okay until she put a hand on his shoulder and bowed her head down on it. I scoffed and went into the room where Clementine was already drawing on the walls with markers and chalk.
"Mind if I join, Clemmy?" I asked kneeling down next to her.
"Please do!" she said nodding and handing me a blue marker.
"My favorite colour," I said with a smile as I stood up and began drawing as far as I could reach up. I made swirls, circles, dots, and lines all into some sort of pattern that looked almost like feathers.
"My dad says we have to lock our doors now and get some rest. We're heading out towards a small town in the morning," Carl said coming in.
"Why can't we stay in somewhere for more than a night?" I asked handing the marker back to Clementine.
"Whoaaaah! Did you draw that?" Clementine said looking up at the pattern.
"Uh...yeah. I did a lot of art when I was your age," I said.
"Sooo...if I keep practicing then I'll get good enough to draw like that?" Clementine asked.
"Yeah, I guess so," I said patting her head.
I snapped my head to the door of our room when I heard a crash of thunder. I walked over to the door and swung it open. It was raining very hard, unlike the normal weather around our area. I smirked and ran out, noticing that the others were coming out of their rooms too.
"Finally! I'm covered in dirt!" I said as Carl and Clementine joined me.
I laughed as it poured down harder and the adults got out their empty water jugs to try and fill them up. Clementine ran over to me and I put her on my shoulders. Even Daryl was enjoying it. Rick was holding Judith then handed her over to Carl.
Carl rocked her in his arms and held his hat over her head so it wasn't too harsh.
When the winds picked up, Rick and Berry urged us to go back inside. I made sure to shut the door tightly and lock it. Water spilled under the doorway and made a sloppy puddle. We wrung out our clothes carefully into a corner and changed into whatever dry clothes we had.
Clementine had her own bed since it was a smaller fold up one, and me and Carl shared the normal one. After I made sure Clementine was asleep, I rolled over and looked at Carl who was laying on his back.
"Y'know," I said, "we could probably just find an old town, barricade it, and start something up like the farm. Hell, even this place would work."
"I dunno..." Carl sighed rubbing his eyes. "My dad never wants to stay in one place for too long. He doesn't think it's safe. Not after the farm and the mansion."
"Tell you what," I said. "How about we try to convince him to build up the town and make it our own? Like a little haven."
"We can try but I doubt it'll work, April," he whispered sleepily. I rolled my eyes and pecked his cheek before rolling back over to go to sleep.

"April, wake up," Clementine said pulling the covers off of me.
"Five more minutes," I mumbled curling into fetal position.
"Daryl says you have to get up now so we can have a head start," she said poking my ribs.
Before I knew it, two muscley arms wrapped around me and I was thrown over a shoulder. I immediately knew it was Daryl because that was the only way he knew how to wake me up.
"Rise an' shine, April," he said as we exited my room and to the parking lot. The sun was bright and the air had that sweet smell from the storm. He set me down and I just sat there with my knees to my forehead, not wanting to get up just yet.
"I said five more minutes, dickhead," I grumbled rubbing my eyes and sighing. I stood up and made my way over to where Carol, Justine, and Helen were throwing together some quick breakfast of what they had found. Spam, bread, and sweet peas.
"Yum," I said sarcastically grabbing a plate. "Haven't had this since the farm."
"Well, it'll do for now," Helen said.
"Let's just hope we find some better stuff at the town," Justine laughed.
"Yeah..." I mumbled walking away. "The town."
