I wiped my dirty face as we trudged through the thick forest.

The baby, who Carl named Judith, cried out and Beth hushed her.

A freaking baby, just great.

A crack in the forest made us all stop and turn towards it. I put up my crossbow and aimed around the forest.

Beth began to step around quiickly with her knife in hand and I scoffed. It's a freaking twig! It ain't gonna hurt you unless you stab yourself with it.

Daryl came up behind me and whispered, "I know what you mean." I smirked a little and we kept on walking.

~

"What do we do?!?!" Keira yelled as the walls of the fort began to bust.

Williams grabbed my arm and pulled me away.

"NO!" I screamed at him and pulled my arm away.

"We ain't got time for this bullshit! Stop messing around, bitch!" he yelled back at me.

"NO! I AIN'T GOING NOWHWERE WITH YOU!! YOU RUINED MY LIFE AND ARE A PIECE OF SHIT STEP-DAD!! I F**KING HATE YOU AND I AIN'T LIVING ANOTHER DAY WITH YOU!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

He stopped and stared at me. With-what? Hate? Pity? Sadness? Tears began to fill my vison and I wiped them away with my long sleeve.

He let go, practically throwing my arm away. "Then die alone." he grumbled taking a rifle and backpack before running out the emergency exit.

My lip quivered and I turned around just in time to see the walls crumble. Keira screamed as one dug into her neck, blood spurting everywhere and shots going off. She was the last friend I had.

Tears flowed down my cheeks.

I promised my self I wouldn't cry any more. Not unless it was serious.

The camp flooded with walkers and one tried to bite my foot. I grabbed a machete with a black handle off of a table and weakly pushed it into the walkers head. It made a sickening crunch going into the mushy skull.

I grabbed a pack off the wall, Keira's crossbow, and a holder for the machete. I slipped the pack and crossbow onto my back and ran towards the secondary exit of the makeshift camp.

-

I stepped over the leaves of decaying trees and kept my hand on my new machete. I climbed on top of a barrel outside the wall and peered over it.

Several walker bodies were strewn over the ground and bodies of people I knew were ripped apart.

It had been 3 days since I fled the camp. I hadn't eaten since and my stomach was trying to kill me.

I lifted my foot above my head, being in ballet I was pretty good at it, and pulled myself over the wall.

My feet landed on the ground softly and I put my hand softly on the dirt.

My messy brown hair flew into my blue eyes, making me want to chop it off. I puffed it out of my eyes and quickly put it into a pony tail, keeping an eye on my surroundings.

I stepped around the bodies and made sure they wouldn't reanimate and end me.

I crept into the tent I had shared with Williams and grabbed a change of clothes, a picture, food and water, and a plastc bag.

I went around to the bodies and searched for IDs.

William Johnson

Caleb Truman

Alexis Hubert

Patricia Willis

Anita Johannson

Juan Pons

Macey Kalebs

Keira Darson.

I took all the IDs that I could find and put them in the plastic bag. I promised myself that every walker I killed, if I had time, I would take their IDs so that one day we could acknowledge how many we lost in this world.

I still carry it.

~

I chewed on the rabbit that Daryl and I had hunted earlier today.

I was keeping watch with Daryl while eating so everyone else could sleep.

I ate it slow and gratefully. We were lucky to have food now, especially with animals starting to hibernate for winter and food running low in stores.

I finished the rabbit, picking it clean to the bone. I let out a huff and threw the bone in the firepit.

"Daryl?" I asked, looking at the fire.

"What?" he said, his chin resting on his crossbow.

"Do ya' think we'll ever find a permanent home?" I asked. "Nothing is safe! No one is safe! This world is gone and we have to live in thr ruins, dead people thinking we're dinner!"

He let out a huff, "I dunno, kiddo."

I looked at him and said,

"What awaits?"

Hola! *Gives T-rex high three*
Hope you enjoyed this chapter! I'm going to try and make the chapters longer, but again I'm trying to make a chapter a day and...that doesn't always work. Especially with Odessy of the Mind, school, and activities, it's getting harder.

Most of the time I can't put my thoughts into words and it's frustrating!

Just bear with me here. *Holds up bear paw*
