"Door's locked," I said pushing on the door a little.
"Good, maybe I'll get some sleep for once," Daryl said lying on the couch in the living room. Rick was in a chair and me and Carl had to share a loveseat because we were the smallest and could fit.
"You got eneough when we tackled you," I said resting my head on my fist while kickign up the foot rests.
"And bruises. You owe me one, April," Daryl said, his knee in the air and hand on his forehead.
"We got you up didn't we?" Carl said laying back.
"Better get some sleep. Going to have to be back at the farm tommorow," Rick said leanign back while wiping his forehead of sweat and dirt.

"April! What happened to your eye?" Ali asked running towards me.
"It was just a kickball accident. I was being stupid again," I said rubbing my head as we headed inside of school. Kids flooded me with questions, but I ignored them.
I never told anyone about Williams, not even Ali, my best friend. I think she w as catching on because I had been using excuses to much and more often now.
I also never told because my mom was actually happy with Williams, something I never understood. I started to wear sunglasses, since the school had no rules against it.
The best thing about them was it hid my pain. The ice glare in my eyes thats seemed to not show any emotion but pain anymore.
I couldn't do anything about the split lips and cuts on my temples. I always said it was nothing an d hat I was.
But I never was.
I still aren't.

I was the first to wake up. When I did I found myself in Carl's arms, his body like a vent, giving off heat. My face grew red and I untangled myself from his arms, slowly so I didn't wake him.
I grabbed my machete and went outside to get some fresh air. As I shut the door, I heard shuffling from inside the house.
Can't I get one single moment of peace and quiet.
Carl walked outside onto the porch and rested his head on my shoulder, being the same height and all.
"Whatcha doing out here?" he asked placing his hands on my hips.
"Fresh air. Stuffy house," I murmured, taking in all of my childhood memories of the neighborhood.
Riding my rusty bike up and down the street with Johnney and Ali, selling fruit with Ms.Bergin's.
Williams. I gagged at his name, but in my head.
Carl kissed me on the cheek and wrapped his arms around me stomach, giving m those sparks and butterflies.
I heard more creakign from inside the house and Carl let go of me. He stood next to me as Daryl and Rick walked out with there bags sayign it was time to check a few houses then go back.
"I-I'm going to check that one down there. Be back in about 15 minutes. If not, come get me," I said pointing to a gray house with a bleak roof.
"Why wouldn't you be back?" Daryl asked, shifting.
"I'll go with," Carl said.
"No. eh-I have to go alone. Just come get me in 15, okay?" I said starting to walk away.
"Hey," Daryl said grabbing my wrist," be careful."
"I will," I said as he loosened his grip.
~
I kicked the door open and came in, my machete ready to stab.
Nothing was there.
I walked up the stairs and to the door on the left. The door I had hidden behind for years. I gulped in air and turned the door open.
It was exactly how I had left it when we had run away in the begining.
I walked to my bed and traced my finger across the sheets, tears wanting to spill.
Footsteps creaked a little but before I could turn around a hand was wrapped around my mouth and my machete taken from my hand.
"Sh-sh-sh. Glad we've finally met, Thief. I been looking for you," I voice growled in my ear.
They've found me.
