The Chase of My Life

Chapter 3

(Melody POV)

I come up with an excuse to go downstairs, having a secret that I haven't told them about. Remember their competitions and them having so much fun, while I was stuck in the stands alone. Until Tyler came along, Athena's brother. He and I having a fling, sort of starting to date while they were gone in other state competitions. We haven't told anyone about it. Hiding it has been sort of hard to do with his family and mine.

Tip toeing to the kitchen and making sure no one was there, cautiously walking to the fridge. Grabbing three water bottles. "Hey, beautiful. Why are you sneaking around, hmmm?" He asked, feeling him wrap his arms around my waist. Turning my head to smile up at him, "You, I was looking for you."

He chuckles, kissing me on the forehead, then moves away and I quickly turn, slapping his ass. Which made him jump a little, turning back toward me with a little glare, "Is someone being a little naughty?"

I suddenly begin to regret what I did, taking a step back and running around the island. Making sure to keep it between us as we chased each other around the kitchen. "Melody..." He growled out, taking a break. He slowly walks toward me and he traps me up against the counter. I try to wiggle out, but it wouldn't work. He raised an eyebrow at me, his head leaning down until his lips captured mine. Moaning a little, having my hands run this hair. Feeling his tongue slowly slip in, hands roaming down to my but when suddenly I heard the kitchen door open and a voice, "Hey, Melody, were still waiting on the..." I watch as Courtney's eyes widen, her mouth dropping wide open.

Shoving Ty off me as I walk toward Courtney, wanting to explain myself, "Courtney, please, don't tell Athena. I can explain everything to you guys," Before I could finish, she was out of the kitchen, going back to the stairs. Tyler and I following her, chasing her before she got to Athena. Tyler made it to the stairs first, blocking her route, when suddenly, he was down, tumbling down the stairs. Courtney had aimed right for the jewels and he went down like a bag of potatoes. He was moaning as I quickly jump over him, tackling Courtney right outside Athena's door, when suddenly it swung open. Athena standing there just staring at us both, frozen.

"What the hell is going on here?" She asked, her eyes wide with shock. Courtney begins to speak, but I quickly slap my hand over her mouth. She growls at me, licking my hand and I pull it away, jumping off her. Courtney jmps up too, running into Athena's room. Hopping right onto her bed and I run after her. I realized that Tyler was probably still dying on the stairs. Athena must of heard him fall down. I quickly run out of the room and follow Athena to see she was laughing, tears falling down her face as she saw Tyler.

I look at Tyler with some sadness, but I couldn't help laughing along with Athena. Tyler looks up at me with a glare, "Just leave him Melody, he will come back too us in a couple of minutes. He probably got what he deserved." Athena said, grabbing my arm and we head back to her room.

We get back into her room and Athena quickly turns on the both of us. Glaring at us both and arms crossed against her chest, "So, what the hell was that?" Courtney just pointed at me.

"Fine, I wasn't telling you both the whole truth about what I did over the summer. I sort of got to meet this great guy, which is your brother. About two months ago we started dating. We kept our relationship a secret since then. We bother were trying to find a good way to tell you guys what was going on between us." I explain to them, they best I could. When a knock on the door and Tyler is standing there.

"Sorry to barge in..." But he was on the ground again, Athena having punched him in the gut with a little anger. Yelling at him, "Why didn't you tell me?! This is such amazing news!" Tyler just looked at her, not saying anything, or couldn't say anything because he was out of air. I gasp, running over to him and sliding to my knees. Helping him up, "Are you okay?" I asked, but he only nods his head.

I gently grab his arm and Athena grabs the other, helping Tyler up and having him sit at the desk. I sat on the ground beside the chair, holding his hand as he recovered. Feeling horrible that he got hurt because I decided to keep this all a secret from them. Not knowing this was going to be the reaction from his sister and Courtney.

"What was your first date?" Courtney asked, looking at the both of us. "It was a coffee date, we were waiting on your barrel wrestling show. It was nice couple of hours in the ac away from heat of the sun." I said, giving Tyler a small smile as he smiled back at me.

All of us calmed down and we talked for the rest of the night about Tyler and I's secret courtship. Soon we all begin to pass out, falling asleep where we were. I slowly fall asleep against Tyler, who moved down to the ground so I could cuddle up with him. Lying my head on his lap as he ran his hand through my hair.

"Goodnight, beautiful." I heard him whisper in my ear and kissing me on the forehead. I fall asleep with a smile on my face.
