Chapter 27

Everyone sat down on their own bed (or mattress) and we started talking about our summers. Well, they all did. I spent the few hours answering in short responses, thinking of how I'm supposed to save the lives of people I care about most.

The next few weeks were a blur of pranks, and a boyfriend.

For pranks, James, Sirius (James made me get to know him, and he's pretty awesome) Remus, Peter and I had set off a thing of dungbombs near the Slytherin common room, which led to me meeting the Slytherins. That was a minor one. For our big Back-to-School prank, James and Sirius had connections to the house elves in the kitchen, so they let us put some powdered stuff on their food. Zonko, from Zonko's Joke Shop in Hogsmeade, gave us some stuff he made, and the powder, according to him, was going to change their hair color to red and gold (which is the package we used, there were many colors). That was hilarious. The prank also caused me to get a boyfriend. And learn a secret from my best friend.

So, onto the boyfriend thing, I'm sure you can already guess who it is. So, after our minor prank, a few of the younger students chased us, and I went the opposite way, dragging Remus with me.

"Remus, come on! I don't know if they're still chasing us, or them!" I shrieked, making him laugh. Remus looked behind him and shook his head.

"There's one or two still after us." He told me and I nodded, forming a plan in my head.

"Let's go to the lake. The sharp turn will hopefully throw them off." I told him quietly as we ran. He nodded and we turned quickly down a hallway.

Once we got to the lake, we collapsed on the ground at the base of the tree. I was laughing hysterically, while Remus just sat there, looking relieved and worried at the same time. I noticed this and mentioned it.

"Are you okay, Remus? You look worried." I said, and thought of something. "You do know the Slytherins can't do anything serious to us, we were ten times smarter then they will ever be combined." He laughed nervously at that, but shook his head.

"No, there's, uh, something I have to tell you." He told me, scratching the back of his neck. "And I need you to promise you won't tell anyone, not Lily, not Michaeala, especially not Severus, no one. Absolutely no one." His face started turning a bit pink. That should've been expected though, as it was mid-October.

"I promise, but why? Did something-"

"I'mawerewolf." He cut me off quickly, then looked down at the lake. I knew my face held a look of shock as the words processed in my mind.

"W-What?" I stuttered, not sure of how to re act.

"I know you're probably upset, and disgusted and all that, but please, please, please don't tell anyone." He begged, and I nodded, my mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.

I finally got my head in the right spot, and tried to talk to him, but he stood up and looked down to me.

"I knew I would loose you as a friend... Not everyone is like James and Sirius and Peter, I guess." He said, probably more to himself than anything. That's when I finally regained my voice and stood up as well.

"You didn't loose me as a friend. There's something I wanted to tell you, and I was going to wait until I knew I was completely positive about it. But I think now is a good time to tell you." I said, my courage waning, so I had to tell him quickly before I said something stupid.

"Really? What would that be?" He asked, looking at his shoes.

"This." I pulled his chin up gently with my forefinger, and pressed my lips to his. After a few seconds, I pulled away, my face was surely a tomato. Remus' face was as well.

"I, um, well I was going to, um, tell you after Christmas or something, but I, uh, thought you needed a-" and he cut my rambling off by kissing me again.

We let go and he looked at his watch.

"I should really get one of those." I remarked and he laughed.

"Don't you think? Anyways, we should probably be heading back. The boys are most likely looking for us." He replied, and I laughed, nodding my head.

And the boys still know nothing about that day, nor Remus and I. Only Lily knows and that's because I can barely keep a secret from her.

It's now October 31st. Halloween. Four years before James and Lily are no more. Sixteen more years until Sirius rips the Fat Lady's canvas. A little less than seventeen years until I make another appearance at Hogwarts.

Yes, you heard right. Two months after Harry is born, I plan on moving, like being on the run. Then, at the end of Harry's fourth year, I plan to return. There's still a few things I have to figure out though. Whose the companion the sorting hat mentioned? How the hell am I supposed to save everyone? Hell, anyone?

"Rae? Raelyn? Hellooooo??" James said, waving and snapping in front of my face.

"What?" I snapped, anger rising for no reason.

"No need to get angry! You were zoned out for at least ten minutes now." He replied, raising his arms in surrender.

"Well I was just fine being in my own little world!" I exclaimed standing up. I have no idea why I was so defensive though.

"I just thought you wanted something to eat, so I woke you up!" He said loudly, copying my actions. I was about to reply back, when vines started sprouting from the ground, and made their way to James' ankles, wrists and neck.

I screamed. I screamed as loudly as I possibly could and as long as my lungs would allow.

I don't remember much, but I do remember Remus and Sirius coming back with professors McGonagall and
Dumbledore.

Remus had sat me on the couch, trying to calm me down by rubbing circles on my back. I had stopped screaming and crying, but still hyperventilating. Sirius plopped down next to me, not saying anything.

"I will send word when I want you in my office, Miss Potter. Your brother will be fine." Dumbledore said, exiting the common room. Minnie followed, with James in tow; probably to the hospital wing.

"I almost killed him." I whispered, as it wasn't real to me. I had almost killed my own brother, whether it was by blood or not.

"It's okay, James is fine." Sirius said, putting his arm on my shoulder. I felt Remus give him a light glare, but held onto my hand.

"You want to stay the night in our room?" Remus asked. I shook my head no and stood up. I ruffled Sirius' hair, and hugged Remus before bidding them goodnight and walking up the girl's stairs to my dorm.

A/N:

Hello there.

So sadly, this is one of Raelyn's last Hogwarts scenes. Only because I want to have Raelyn and Jamie in the same time period when they meet, not with Jamie talking to Raelyn during her sixth year, while Raelyn is still in her seventh year or something.

BUT (there's always a but) I will be writing two separate stories after this one is done, one for a more detailed life of Raelyn, and one of Jamie. Also more of their previous muggle life.

So yeah. If anyone has any ideas or whatever, just comment them, I'll be happy to give feedback or include your idea.

Bye my duckies
