Chapter 7
Learning and Choices
"He just turned 16 last month. He's probably in his room. You can go hang out with him. Up two flights of stairs and all the way at the end of the left hand side." Ginny told me. I thanked her and followed her directions to James' room.
I found his door easily enough, his door was painted red and gold, Gryffindor colors, and James Sirius down the middle in black.
I knocked softly on the door, and a tall boy with black hair opened the door. He looked almost exactly like Harry, except his eyes were more hazel and his hair a bit more tame.
"Umm... Do I know you?" He said, looking down at me a bit. He is freaking tall.
"Yes, well, you see, I'm" I stuttered, not knowing how to tell him I magically appeared, literally.
"You must be that girl dad was talking about. Some kind of long lost cousin, right?" He asked, probably noticing I got nervous. I don't even know why I was, but that's how I can be sometimes.
"Uh, yeah. I'm Bl-Raelyn. Raelyn Potter." I replied, almost slipping up. James didn't seem to notice though, thank Merlin.
"James. James Potter." he laughingly replied, "I'm assuming mum sent you up here and that you're about my age?" He had continued, ending in what sounded like a question.
I laughed under my breath a bit.
"Yeah. I just turned 15."
"Oh cool. I turned 16 last month. Oh, you can come in. Ignore the mess though. I still have to wait another freaking year to do magic."
I laughed at this. I sat down in a bean bag chair on the floor, and James sat in another across from me.
We talked for a while, at least until dinner was called.
After 2 weeks of living at the Potter Manor, it felt like home. More so then I felt with my real family.
James is like the older brother I never had, and Albus, who's two years younger then me, is similar to my real younger brother. Al likes to study a lot more though. And read. I love reading with Al, it's so peaceful.
Now Lily. Lily Luna Potter is the best 11 year old you could ever meet. Me and James chase her (or she chases us, depending on her mood) almost everyday. Harry and Ginny are possibly more loving then my birth parents every were.
2 weeks after Raelyn wakes up
"Rae! I need you to come to the kitchen please!" I heard Harry shout through the house. I sighed. I didn't do anything this time.
"Coming!" I shouted back. Putting a paper on my page in the book I was reading, I stood up and stretched. Sitting on a bean bag chair for 2 hours is fun, but painful to get up.
"Raelyn Giovanna! Get down here!" Harry shouted again.
I sighed again. What the hell did I do so badly?
I stomped down the stairs, so he knew I was coming.
"Finally! What took you so long?" Harry exclaimed. I rolled my eyes.
"Honestly? Honestly Harry? I stopped reading and stretched. That's it." I replied with a slight attitude. It's become my thing.
"I need to talk to you, and you have to be completely serious. Okay?"
"Yeah. What's up Har-Har?"
He rolled his eyes at this. And I laughed. He hated that name, which is why I call him that all the time.
