- The Devil You Woe -
2x2The next day comes quickly and Vada is glad to finish breakfast and take a walk before she has to go back to the dorm. She has a lot on her mind lately and sometimes being alone is better than being with Enid and Wednesday—Gomez and Morticia the second.
She walks up the stairs and sighs to herself, glad that Wednesday has helped her take down all the drawings and cards from before. The door is bare and boring, just how she prefers it.
"Enid!" Wednesday's panicked voice is heard through the door with Vada's enhanced hearing.
She doesn't even use the door, closing her eyes and teleporting directly to the sound of the worried voice. She opens her eyes and the sight nearly makes her gasp.
Enid is on the balcony, lying in a pool of her own blood with her neck split open. It's a gruesome sight and Vada wonders why she hadn't felt the death.
Wednesday's dark eyes are as wide as ever, filled to the brim with tears. "Thing! Get help!"
Laughter fills the air and both girls look down at the wolf, who is sitting up now. Their brows furrow.
Enid grins at them and rubs a finger through her neck wound, licking the blood and humming in delight. "Mmm."
Wednesday lifts her brows, cheeks flushing pink at the sight. "Enid?"
"Blood and orange jam. My favorite." She replies happily. "Got you two! Happy Prank Day!"
"Prank day?" Wednesday asks in confusion, staring at the girl like she has lost her mind.
Vada rolls her eyes. "Thats today? I planned to come up missing."
"It's an annual Nevermore tradition." Enid continues as she stands and brushes herself off. "You hadn't arrived last year when we did it. But the look on you two's faces when you thought I was dead.. that was priceless."
"I was mentally shopping for caskets." Vada informs and crosses her arms, glancing at Wednesday.
The braided haired girl furrows her brows. "Perhaps I was distracted by the blood. It's a nice color on such pale skin."
"So it made me hot?" She smirks in reply. "I'll take that to my grave."
"You might end up there sooner than you think." Wednesday clenches her jaw.
"I was just getting you back for the fake eyeball you left on my pillow." The blonde reminds.
Vada and Wednesday share a look. "What fake eyeball?"
Enid leads them into the dorm and to her pillow where an eye lay, socket and all. It was horribly realistic.
Vada lifts her brows and picks it up, sniffing it and looking at Wednesday pointedly. It is real, but she can't say that in front of Enid.
Wednesday crosses her arms. "I'd recognize this beady blue eyed stare anywhere."
"It's so real looking." Enid cringes. "Where did you get it?"
Wednesday thinks before walking to the window. "A little birdie must've dropped it off."
Vada looks down at the eye again and puts it on Wednesday's desk, shaking her head. It feels too personal, holding her boyfriend's dead dad's eyeball.
"Are we going to talk about what happened at the Pyre?" Enid finally asks, looking at the girls. "You both went kinda.. crazy."
"They're mindless ass wipes who can't help but force heroism on the biggest Anti Heroes of the school." Vada remarks. "They can all burn."
