- If These Woes Could Talk -
2x4Vada knows it's wrong, but she can't help but find herself at Willow Hill again. Ever since their return back to Nevermore, all she can think about is Tyler. She needs to see him.
She walks to the security box outside and lifts her brows at the man behind the counter. It's the same one from days ago and he's definitely having flashbacks. She doesn't even have to say anything as he opens the fence.
Stepping up the stairs, Vada is hit with an odd feeling she can't describe. It's a mixture of worry and pain. It's similar to when everything went down last semester and she was feeling Tyler's pain.
Her brows furrow as she continues down the hall, feeling burning around her neck. It hurts, horribly, and she almost falls.
"Are you okay?" A passing nurse asks but she waves the woman away, forcing herself to the office of Fairburn.
Another horrible pain and she groans, falling against the floor and holding her neck. "No... No.. what.. what are you doing to him?" She yells out.
A passing nurse tries to help her up, but she pushes the woman away and pictures herself in Tyler's room.
She opens her eyes and horror fills her. Tyler is transformed into the Hyde and that's not the part that scares her. It's the fact he's choking Laurel.
Fairburn and the security guard are trying to pull the beast's long fingers from the woman's neck while Laurel barely whispers out for him to stop.
"Tyler!" Vada yells out and everyone stops. He looks over at her and growls, but throws Laurel against the wall and backs up within his cell.
Laurel slowly sits up, laughing quietly at the sight of the Hyde, growling and pacing in his cell.
Vada jumps forward and pins her against the wall. "You think you're cute? Huh? I'll kill you!" She yells, eyes red as the security guard pulls her off.
Tyler growls loudly and hits the tempered glass, a warning to let her go.
The guard does as told when Fairburn nods for him to focus on Laurel again.
Vada hits the ground with a grunt and immediately, Tyler is back to himself, bent down to see her face with worry. "I-I'm okay.."
The security guard jerks Laurel up and out of the cell. Fairburn looks between with furrowed brows, some internal realization happening. "I'll leave you two.."
Vada watches the door shut before looking at Tyler. He's sweaty and clearly tired from transforming. It doesn't take her but seconds to teleport inside of the cell and pull him into her.
Tyler melts into her hold, strong arms gathering her closer as he presses his head into her neck and breathes in. "You came back.."
"I couldn't stay away from my guy." She whispers, rubbing his back slowly and pulling him to the bed. "Come on, lay down."
"I'm sorry.. I didn't wanna hurt her.. I just... I got so upset and.."
"Lay down, Tyler. I don't blame you." She lays back and helps him lay down with her, feeling him lay halfway ontop of her and burry his nose into her neck.
He rubs the tip of his nose along the underside of her jaw and relaxes slightly. "I was worried it was all a weak moment for you. That you were just trying to close things off in a good way.."
"I would never play you like that. I meant every word I said last time I visited. I'm going to help you get better. I'm going to get you out." She plays with his hair, leaning her cheek against his head.
"We're going to be safe again. When I get out; I'll keep you safe. I'll do anything." He promises.
"And what about Laurel? Is she still your master?"
His brows furrow and he shakes his head. "No. No, she hasn't been my master since the night you almost killed her, Vada."
"So.. who's your master then?"
Tyler goes silent and lays his head back against her, listening to her heart. "How long until we can go home?"
"Soon, baby. Very soon. I'm working on this case with Wednesday and I have a feeling something about Outcasts will come from it. Willow Hill is apart of something much more nefarious. I can use that."
"You're not going to be in danger, are you?" He asks.
"Of course not. Nothing I can't handle anyway." She promises and cups his cheek, pulling him up to meet her gaze again. "Don't worry about it right now, okay? Just rest and dream about what our life will be like when you're free again."
Tyler nods and pecks her lips gently, pausing as he adjusts and hears a crinkle in her pocket.
"Oh." Vada smiles and sits up slightly. "I have something for you." She pulls out the photo of Tyler and his father, the one from the cabin, handing it over. "I know you're not happy with your dad but.. not all bad is forever, right?"
He slowly takes the picture and looks at it, his eyes softening. "This was two years ago, when I shot my first ten pointer. He was so proud, he screamed and scared Bradbury's buck away completely."
Vada smiles slightly and watches him. "Well, it sounds like he wasn't always so mean, huh?"
"We had our good moments." He nods. "I... I still love him... I mean, I hate him but.."
"But he's your father and despite everything, you care about him." Vada nods in understanding. "He knew that. He knew he could've done better too. And he was going to try that.. before everything happened. But I think he'd be really proud of you right now, for trying to get better."
Tyler looks at her before hugging her close again and sighing out. "I really missed you, baby."
"I missed you too." She hugs back and closes her eyes, savoring the feeling. She needs him out and soon. "Get some sleep, okay?"
"Okay.." he lays back down with her, pulling her close and settling into the blankets with her.
Vada kisses his cheek and curls up with him, playing with the hair on his neck as he begins to fall asleep. "I got you, baby. She's never gonna hurt you again."
