- The Devil You Woe -
2x2

Who knew lanes were so hard to stay in? Vada has already taken out two mail boxes and four fence posts. She's slammed the brakes five times for squirrels to cross the road and she's sure she has almost taken out a mail man that she could barely see over the dash.

Stop signs were a recommendation and stop lights were too hard to see, so she ignores them.

She turns another corner and slams the brakes as she sees the psychiatric hospital she has been mentally and physically avoiding for months now. "Willow Hill.. fitting.." she mumbles to herself.

She puts the van in park and steps out, walking to the security station. "I'm here to see Tyler Galpin."

The man laughs blatantly and watches her as if expecting her to throw a magazine at him. "Hey, Ross. Check it out. Another one of those weird fangirls who's got the hots for the Hyde. Quit wasting our time and find something else to focus on. Like puppies.. or boy bands."

Vada isn't sure why, but the idea of other girls coming to try and visit Tyler makes her angry. Her jaw clenches and her eyes glow red. "Tell your boss Vada Morningstar is here. And if they don't let me inside, they're going to have a security position open for hire soon."

The man hesitates before grabbing his phone and making the call.

Vada turns away and watches as the gate opens. She smirks at the man before going up the stone steps and to the front doors. The door is tall and she opens it with force.

The halls are white and bleak, with hardly any decoration other than mental health awareness and therapist quotes.

She looks around as she steps into a pink office, sitting at the chair. The woman on the other side is too perky, but she has to speak with her to be able to see Tyler.

"Would you like a jellybean?" The woman smiles and nods to her bucket of sweets.

"Candy makes my stomach overturn." Vada informs boredly.

She hesitates before looking away. "Well.. right. Dr Fairburn has noted in the paperwork that you might come visit. But you have to be approved by her."

"Is that Tyler's new handler?" She asks, watching her look through paperwork.

"We're not a zoo, Ms Morningstar." She chuckles. "Dr Fairburn is the chief psychiatrist and a pioneer in the field of Outcast mental health."

"Is she an outcast?"

"No. Why does that matter?"

Vada rolls her eyes. Her point exactly. "One cannot understand a mind it does not possess."

"Wise words from a colleague of mine." A voice sounds from behind Vada.

She turns and sees a tall woman with curly hair and dark skin. She's British, but she looks nice. As most psychiatrists look. She doesn't trust her.

"Hello, Vada. I'm Dr Fairburn. Tyler has spoken of you.. nearly every session." She looks her up and down. "For good reason, I presume. You are quite beautiful, as he says."

"Flattery won't get you far with me. I want to see Tyler." Vada informs simply, watching the woman as she stands.

Fairburn smiles slightly. "Thank you, Judi." She says to the woman at the desk before leading Vada down the hall. "I must admit, I was surprised to hear you are visiting. Months and months, nothing. I had lost hope. So why do you want to see Tyler now?"

Vada walks silently, dark eyes taking in every detail of the hall they walk. Everyone looks so depressed, the few that are happy look overly drugged. "I need to speak with him. It's that simple."
