- Call of the Woe -
2x3A green and a purple zephyr sit side by side as the Nevermore crowd and CLAW crowd merge together.
Ron and Dort stand beside one another, but the Nevermore principal speaks first, smirking. "In an unexpected change to our schedule, I am announcing the first Cadets vs Outcast color war. Each side will have their own team zephyr, designed by our DaVinci students."
Ron crosses his arms, muscles bulging from his tight shirt. "The roles of engagement are simple, the teams will comprise of up to thirteen members. They will be divided into defenders and attackers. The defenders will hold the other side's zephyr hostage. The attackers are allowed to recapture the zephyr by any means necessary."
Vada smirks as she raises her hand, watching Ron's eyes move to her. "Does that mean sudden and violent death?"
"I like your style, but I don't want a prison sentence. Keep casualties to a minimum, kid." Ron informs.
"Aw, no fun." She lowers her hand and looks at the nearest cadet, smirking. "I would've loved burning your balls and shoving them down your throat.."
The cadet shuffles further toward his own cadet group and swallows thickly.
Dort clears his throat and forces a smile. "Once a team has reclaimed their zephyr, they will fire a flare. Then it's a race to the finish, across the Ciderback Falls, back here to the lookout tower. First team to place their zephyr on the tripod wins."
"You have five minutes to select your teammates." Ron turns to his cadets as chatter begins.
Vada turns to her friends. Bianca sighs. "Guess the Nightshades are back."
"Bruno and I want in." Enid informs as she steps closer to the group.
"So do I." Eugene nods.
"Oh, man. This is a Nightshades only team." Ajax smirks playfully, watching Eugene and Bruno's faces fall. "But sure, go ahead."
"So what's the plan?" Bruno asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well, me, Bianca and Kent can guard the Zephyr. I'll stone and you can siren anyone who gets near us."
"The rest of us will be on the attack." Enid confirms and smiles, sounding pleased. She's hardly ever able to use her claws.
Vada crosses her arms. "Attack it shall be." She agrees.
"Good luck, Freaks." Ron speaks from behind the group, smirking. He seems confident that his cadet team will win.
Soon enough, the gun shot rang throughout the woods and the teams run off. They split up in their respective groups of defenders and attackers.
Vada makes her way through the woods, looking for the purple zephyr. She looks up when she sees the flare being shot for the cadets. They have already gotten their zephyr?
She moves behind a tree as she hears movement, eyes glowing red as she waits and watches.
Enid and Bruno run by like wolves, but she sees the cadets throw tear gas and they run away coughing, practically with their tails between their legs.
Eugene begins to control the bees, forcing them into the gas, but they suddenly stop. The gas must be killing them. He looks over for help. "It's killing them! I can't!"
Vada sighs. "I have to do everything myself.." she walks into the pink gas calmly, looking at the boys who seem a bit surprised she isn't bothered by the gas. They don't know she's a demon though. "Hello, boys."
The cadets look at one another within their gas masks before one swings at her. She grabs his arm and jerks down roughly, then twists it until she hears a crack.
She kicks an approaching teen and watches as he takes out his partner in his fall. A tall boy grabs her shoulder and she uses his height against him to flip him over her shoulder, hitting him in the throat just so he'd stay down longer.
The last boy stares at her before handing the zephyr over. "Just take it. My parents forced me into this stupid club anyway."
Vada takes the zephyr and smirks. "Good boy." She steps over the groaning mess of teens and hums happily. "Bye, boys."
Bianca stands and fires the flare, a proud smile on her face. "Go, Vada! Teleport!"
Vada closes her eyes and imagines herself at the top of that stupid tower. She opens her eyes and finds herself face to face with another cadet. "Fancy meeting you here." She moves closer.
He hesitates, ignoring the shouts of his friends. "Uh.. your eyes are red.."
"Are they? Hm.. can you look closer? I think I might be having an allergic reaction of some kind.." she leans closer.
He leans closer as well, examining her eyes.
"Just a little closer, love.." she coos, stepping back. He follows a little.
She smirks as Wednesday comes from her zip line, kicking him down and giving Vada time to secure it on the tripod. Once it's secured and Nevermore is a screaming mess of happiness, she turns to the braided girl. "Perfect timing, as always."
"Anything for you." Wednesday smirks and looks down at the screaming teens and her parents.
"Looks like we're staying."
"Not to worry. We have our own field trip planned." She promises the devil and looks over. "Be prepared to learn more of Galpin."
"You know, the outdoors might actually be your thing. You look extra pale today." Vada walks with her down the steps.
"Are you trying to flatter me?"
"Only slightly."
Author's Note: short chapter but it's a good place to end this segment, so. Next chapter will be a bit more exciting in terms of plot!
