The chopper tilted left, cutting smoothly through the clouds as we passed one of the tallest buildings I'd ever seen. My eyes stayed fixed on the window, watching as the world outside shifted into something unreal, something out of a dream.

The city stretched endlessly beneath us, glittering even in the faint morning haze. Towers of steel and glass rose so high that they pierced the clouds, their tops swallowed by mist. The height we were at right now thousands of feet in the air was still nothing compared to them. They were monstrous, breathtaking, almost alive.

Below, the streets were veins of light and motion. People craned their necks upward as our chopper passed overhead, the faint reflection of its shadow sweeping across the rooftops. A group of kids waved, jumping with excitement, their little hands reaching toward the sky as if we were something extraordinary. I smiled faintly. Even though I knew this wasn't the first time they'd seen a chopper, they reacted as though it were magic. Maybe it still felt like that, even here.

And as I watched, a realization settled heavy in my chest. This was the world I was stepping into. A world far removed from anything I had ever imagined.
Not as a visitor. Not as a mere woman.
But as his woman. The Lady of this empire. The mother of his children.
The one who would carry his legacy, or fall trying to prove she deserved it.

The thought sent a strange chill down my spine. Power, here, was not inherited. It was tested. And though my title came with weight, I knew that in this place, worth had to be earned, not named. Jimin's voice cut through my thoughts, deep and low, like he'd plucked them straight from my head.

Jimin- You are more than all those things you describe, Senòrita.

I turned my head slowly, finding him seated opposite me. His gaze was steady, unwavering, fixed on me like it had been since we boarded. Those icy blue eyes of his dark, cold, yet somehow tender held me captive.

Suhani- Stop doing that, Jimin.

Jimin- Doing what?

His smirk deepened, that familiar one that always made it hard to stay annoyed.

Suhani- Hearing my thoughts.

Jimin- You're too loud, love.

I sighed, leaning back in my seat, torn between irritation and amusement. The hum of the blades filled the silence for a moment as I looked outside again, the clouds parting beneath us like shifting smoke.

Suhani- I... didn't know this is how the underground world looks like.

Jimin- Do you like it?

I glanced down at Kian, sitting quietly in my lap, tiny fingers gripping his silicone teether. His eyes followed the movement of the clouds through the glass, soft gurgles escaping his mouth. Across from us, Klaire was curled against Jimin's chest, her small face pale and flushed. She'd finally drifted off to sleep after fighting her fever for hours, her breaths uneven but calm now. My heart tightened a little at the sight.

Suhani- Yeah... this place is beautiful.

Jimin- Beautiful? Hahaha... Senòrita, this world could be anything but beautiful.

Suhani- Why not? It really is beautiful.

He chuckled quietly, the kind that never reached his eyes.

Jimin- Don't mistake its beauty for kindness, love. This is the darkest and most terrifying place in the world.

His words lingered, heavy in the air. I looked back out of the window again, and for a second, I understood what he meant. The city shimmered like a jewel, but beneath the glow was something else sharp, cold, dangerous. Like a blade wrapped in silk.
