Ezra and Thomas were giving me cheeky looks when I arrived to the dining hall.
"How's Taron?" Thomas asked, as he ducked into his plate.
"Taris." Ezra chuckled into his plate. I shook my eyes at both of them. I shouldn't be surprised by them. They were going to be nosey especially if Taron and I stayed behind.
"That's a terrible nickname." I sat down in front of them.
"Better than Byris." Ezra slapped his hand on the table. At the moment, Byron walked in. As usual, he had a grumpy look on his face. He took a seat away on the other side of the dining hall away from us.
"Speak of the devil" Ezra craned his neck to look at Byron. "I can't wait until he finds out about Gregorio" Ezra snickered evilly. Gregorio was Taron's name. He couldn't have picked a different one. "Have you two talked at all."
I shook my head not answering. I served myself a hefty plate. I was starving but talking about Byron was making me lose my appetite.
"It ended that badly." Thomas replied, also looking over his shoulder.
"Let's not talk about Byron. I am tired, and really sore." I sighed heavily. I kept my eyes on my plate even though I wanted to look over at him.
"Right." Ezra leaned towards me. I lifted my eyes up at him. "Who are you kidding? Just because you haven't talked about him for the last two weeks doesn't mean you aren't still head over heels about him."
" I am trying." I couldn't help hissing at him. "We finished badly the very last time and he doesn't seem to care. I am not going to be the idiot that keeps going to back to him. Besides didn't you two say to stay away from him until we were done."
Ezra and Thomas looked at each other with raised eyebrows.
"Keep fooling yourself but your tone says it all." Ezra teased with a grin on his face. I took a deep breath.
"Leave her alone. Maybe it is better that they broke it off." Thomas nudged Ezra. "We did threaten Byron, and lost it on Iris. So tell us about Taron?" Thomas lifted his eyebrows amused.
"I have lost my appetite." I pushed my plate away. "Goodnight." I got to my feet, and left the both of them laughing. My stomach squirmed at the mention of Taron. I didn't need any more trouble with someone else. What I needed was to completely get over Byron?
Taron came to mind.
I pushed him away.
"No" I told myself as I headed for my room. "I can't do that to Taron." I sighed in frustration. I noticed a group of girls ahead of me. I took a different route.
I was not in the mood to talk to anybody else.
Ares was waiting for me when I got to my room. He chirped at me. His feathers ruffled at me, and he took off.
"Don't go see Byron." I called after him. "Forget about him." I fell back on my bed. "Don't think about him." I told myself. I had to force myself to not think about Byron. I needed to get over him but it was difficult. He had been my first love. But, he was a jerk. He had proven to be a jerk over and over. I couldn't keep going back to him.
Taron popped into my head, making me forget about Byron.
"Ugh, get out." I told Taron's image in my head. I pressed a pillow over my head. "Stop annoying me." I sat up, throwing my pillow aside.
Taron would help me forget about Byron. He had offered to help me before but I was scared-
Or, maybe I just wasn't willing to let him go. I wasn't entirely sure.
