I went to see Nurse Gail so she could help me clean and bandaged the wound. She cleaned me up and sent me along. The boys didn't know anything about the match. They would probably try to talk me out of it. I couldn't let it go. It was hard to believe that Byron and I were tied. I glared at Byron, we were standing on opposite ends of the mat. The timer and score keeper were on. The giant screen was on one side. It wasn't a great method of keeping track of scores but it was good enough.

"Ready?" Byron's lips twitched slightly.

"Oh you know it." I bowed towards him, and lifted my sword. I had taken plenty of numbing potion to make sure my wounds wouldn't bother me. I was going to feel it in the morning, though. I had my knife attached to my leg. He had one sword in one hand. He returned the bow, and the timer started. The match would be much shorter than earlier. We decided on a fifteen-minute match with the winner scoring the most points.

My hands were blazing as I lunged at him. To my surprise, he was fighting with one sword. He was able to change swords easily between his hands. A sword appeared and disappeared out of his less dominant hand as he blocked me.

It irked me that he was using both swords but we had settled on a no rules match. I lifted my knife out of halter, and threw it at him. It missed the side of his head slightly as he ducked, and lunged for me. I blocked him with the my blade, and I kicked him as hard as I could with my foot. He grasped my foot and pushed me backwards. I fell backwards but managed to roll onto my back. I lifted my hands, and tossed balls of fire at him. He lifted his own hand, and they were deflected away.

I didn't have to time to be surprised because my knife appeared back in my hand. I lunged myself at him with my blade in my hand. It sliced his arm. He let out a loud hiss. He lifted his blade and he smacked the side of my head.

I had to step away because my vision became starry. Dull pain ran down my neck. I shook my head trying to clear my vision.

The edge of his blade met my arm, and I let out a loud yelp. Tightly grasping my knife, I aimed for his shoulder. The tip of my knife met his shoulder, and he yelled.

He stepped away from me. I punched him as hard as I could. He took my blade from his shoulder, and he stabbed me in my thigh.

I lifted my hands, and burned him. He fell backwards. I took advantage of it, and lifted my blade. He lunged for his blade, but I was faster. I pressed the tip of my knife to his neck.

I lowered my sword from his neck, slowly.

"Nice job, you have beaten me." he answered with twitching lips. His eyes were shining brightly.

"Are you going to quit?" I answered, dropping my sword and stepping away from him.

"No" Byron replied while meeting my gaze. I opened my mouth to argue with him. "I have to keep an eye on you until you become a full Guardian until then you are my responsibility" he wiped the blood dripping from his mouth.

"I just proved to be way better with a sword" I retaliated, confused. I had the urge to lift up my sword, and stab him with it. His eyes flickered to the sword on the ground like if he had heard my thoughts.

I crossed my arms across my chest.

"I just beat you, Byron" I replied through gritted teeth.

"Good. You needed some motivation and I gave it to you." Byron shrugged like if it didn't matter. "You've proven to be an excellent swordswomen."

"Byron" I replied in a threatening tone. "Don't mess with me."

Byron suddenly grasped my arm, forcefully. He dragged me across the gym, and out.
