Year Four
sixty one. Schemer

Magnolia Malvorseve was a schemer. It was the Slytherin in her. She got what she wanted, when she wanted it. Since Fred had asked her, she needed to find Lucille a date.

She had one person in mind, and she needed him to agree to ask her. She knew he would've been going alone anyway.

"Draco!" Magnolia peered over the blonde's shoulders. She couldn't see but he rolled his eyes the second he heard her voice. "Yes, Maggie?"

"Are you taking anyone to the Yule Ball?" Magnolia asked as she sat herself next to him on the couch. He closed his textbook as he looked at the girl who was smiling cheek to cheek.

"No I'm not going with you," Draco immediately said which caused Magnolia to loose her smile and roll her eyes. "Not for me you shit, I'm going with Fred."

"Of course you're going with a Weasley," he scoffed. "Can't get any farther from being a Slytherin, can you?"

"Shut upppp," Magnolia groaned as she rolled her eyes. "I want you to ask Lucy."

"What?" He stopped being a dick as he paid attention to the blonde sitting next to him. "Lucy doesn't have a date, I want you to go with her."

"Okay, fine. Its better than going with Pansy." He said which made Magnolia's eyes widen. She was surprised she didn't have to beg or anything. "Thank you so so so much Draco! You're the best!"

Magnolia left which left Draco sitting in the common room alone realizing what he agreed to. Lucille barely talked to him and now he had agreed to ask her to be his date? He's going to get so humiliated if she says no.

Draco saw Lucille heading out of Herbology later that afternoon as she was talking with Neville Longbottom about who knows what herb. He walked up to the two of them and watched as the colour drained out of the boys face.

"Piss off Longbottom, I need to ask Lucille something." Neville nodded quickly as he ran off before Lucille can apologize for Draco's rude behavior. She turned to face the Hufflepuff as she rolled her eyes. "Draco?"

"I was wondering if you'd accompany me to the ball?" He nonchalantly asked Lucille which made her eyes widen. Magnolia had been up to this, for sure, but the fact she got him to agree was insane. They weren't technically on good conditions, after the whole
Blaise finding out incident.

"Sure, Draco. It's not like I have anyone else to go with," Lucille muttered at the end as the boy looked her up and down as she clutched her books tightly to her chest. "Great, don't wear yellow, I'm wearing black."

Just like that Draco left her in the middle of the hallway. Well, at least she had a date. She walked back to the Hufflepuff common room where she ran into the person she least wanted to see right now, Cedric.

"Lucy! Come!" He waved her over to the corner he sat in and did his work. She walked over to the boy who was smiling widely.

"Guess what? Cho Chang said she'll go to the ball with me," he smiled. Lucille had known he had a crush on her since she knew him almost. Since being the Triwizard champion, she finally noticed him.

"That's great Ced, I'm glad she said yes," Lucille tells him and she was hoping he wouldn't ask who she was going with, but almost as if she predicted it. "Who are you going with Luc? Don't tell me you're going alone."

"Oh no, I am going with," She stopped herself as Cedric looked up at her waiting for her to finish. "Draco..."

"Lucy!" His face immediately dropped as he realized who she was going with. "No, Lucy, you can't."

"What? Yes I can, I can go with whoever I want,"
Lucille fought back as Cedric ran his hand through his hair and looked around the room. "You're telling me you can't go with Ernie or-or Justin?"

"They don't like me," Lucille muttered as Cedric rolled his eyes. He just up and left his spot as he went up to presumably his dorm. She knew Cedric wasn't going to approve, but he would eventually get over it.

Lucille went to find Magnolia and Everett who were studying in the library. Magnolia smiled widely as she watched her best friend walk towards her. Everett looked up as well.

"Really Maggie?" Lucille groaned at the girl whose smile faded as she could tell how annoyed Lucille was.

"Wvat's wrong?" Everett asked as she looked between the girls, sensing the tension between the two. Lucille sat down on the other side of the table.

"Really, Draco?" Lucille glared at Magnolia shrugged. "He was my only option. Are you going?"

"Yes!" Lucille stressed as Magnolia smiled again knowing her plan had worked. They both had dates.

"Do you not like this Draco?" Everett asked Lucille who was already stressed about going with him.

"No she does," Magnolia quickly responded for her best friend which warranted her a small slap "ow!"

"It's complicated Everett," Lucille tells her as she nods in confusion.

"I'm just voing with some Durmstrang man," Everett told the girls to try and ease there tension a bit. Lucille was still glaring at her best friend, but Magnolia knew deep inside that she was thanking her. Lucille liked Draco, even though she told everyone she did not and even tried to deny it herself.

"Maggie, I need a dress. Do you think your mum could send an extra? My mum would flip if I asked for a dress that was not the colour yellow... or any bright colour." Lucille turned to face Magnolia who nodded as she quickly took out parchment to presumably owl Persephone Malvorseve.

"Vy no bright colours?" Everett questioned Lucille who really only wore the colours yellow, pink, and the occasional light blue. "Draco told me I couldn't wear yellow."

"You shouldn't let a man tell you vat to vear," Everett tells Lucille who nods excessively as she looks over at Magnolia who just rolled her eyes. "While I agree, Draco is an asshole, but you're the one who has a crush on him."

"For the last time Maggie, I do not-!" Lucille yelled loudly as everyone in the library stared at her. Her cheeks flooded red in embarrassment as Magnolia stood up with the parchment in hand, most likely going to owl it to her mother.

"Keep telling yourself that Luc, the more you say it does not make it any less true!" Magnolia smiles as she waves at the two of them. Lucille slumped in her chair as she looked at Everett and muttered "she can be such a bitch,"
