Year Four
sixty two. The Yule Ball

The break had been relaxing but also full of school work. Since apparently most of the fourth years decided to stay for the Yule Ball, the professors decided to give all of the students assignments over break. Magnolia and Lucille finished theirs pretty early on so they could enjoy the rest of their break.

Lucille forgave Magnolia within the week after she set her up with Draco. She just had to make sure her mother did not find out. Melody and her were on decent terms, so she doubt she would tell her mother.

"Come over to Slytherin commons around 5? Luc, the dress my mum sent for you is gorgeous. It almost matches mine a bit," Magnolia tells her friend at breakfast the morning of Christmas. The girls had already opened their gifts that their parents had sent them. Persephone had sent the girls dresses and Claudius's dress robes a long with their Christmas gifts.

Lucille looked over to Cedric who was talking to Cho Chang. They have not spoke since they had a little fight about her going to the Yule Ball with Draco. He looked over at her as Cho walked away, Lucille attempted a wave as he turned away and walked towards the usual Hufflepuff table.

"What is his problem? I thought he was so protective over you?" Magnolia questioned as she shoved toast into her mouth. Lucille realized she never told Magnolia about her and Cedric's conversation.

"He's just upset I am going with Draco, that's all." Lucille tells her and Magnolia can tell she does not want to elaborate, so she does not press the girl. Everyone was lively about the ball that was happening tonight, and Magnolia realized that she had not seen Fred at all today.

"Lucy, have you seen Fred today?" Magnolia asked the girl since she has to past their common room to get down to the Great Hall. Lucille thinks back to her walk this morning and she did not recall seeing either of the twins. "I don't think so,"

Lucille showed up at Magnolia's dorm promptly at five. Lucille saw her dress hung up on Magnolia's dresser along with Magnolia's. Lucille's dress was a dark blue with a translucent black fabric over it. It was off the shoulders and had little flower designs on it. Magnolia's was about the same but dark purple and the straps wrapped around her neck. Magnolia's hair was already curled, but she told Lucille she would curl hers.

Lucille sat in Magnolia's loo as she curled her hair with her wand. Lucille was unsure about going with Draco. Sure, they talked some, but not a lot, and definitely not enough to slow dance with each other in front of all of Hogwarts. Lucille could also tell Magnolia was nervous as well by the way she kept taking in deep breaths every couple of minutes.

The two girls got their dresses on and watched as Daphne and Pansy came out of their loo's in their dresses. Daphne was in a tight fitting light green dress that shimmered in the light and Pansy was in a light pink frilly dress. Lucille was impressed as she saw Pansy in pink, a colour she would've never imagined on the girl.

The girls walked downstairs to the Slytherin common rooms were all the fourth year and above students were congregating. Lucille immediately caught the eye of Draco. He was wearing dress robes of black and a white boy. He looked at Lucille, who was coming down the stairs, he admired her blue dress.

Daphne walked over to Theo, and Pansy walked to Blaise. Lucille rolled her eyes as she realized that he must've agreed to take Pansy. Magnolia was watching them as she stood by herself, her dirty blonde curls falling over her shoulder.

"I see you took my advice," Draco started off as he got closer to Lucille. She nodded as she looked him up and down as well. "You look nice, blue is a good colour on you."
