Year Two
twenty seven. Cancelled Game

Today was Lucille's game against Gryffindor, it was decide who moves onto the finals against Slytherin. Lucille was afraid about her game against Gryffindor. From how Magnolia explained it, their captain is ruthless.

"Scared for today?" Cedric asked her as they walked down towards the pitch.

"Pfft, no, not at all!" She lied, she was scared. The game against Gryffindor was going to be hard. Harry Potter was a really good seeker, and Fred and George were good beaters, not to even mention their chasers.

They were almost getting ready to play, Lucille and her hair up, and already almost mounted her broom.

"This match is cancelled!" Professor McGonagall shouted through the megaphone. Everyone started booing, and the captain Oliver Wood started yelling stuff about the cup, and Gryffindor.

Lucille couldn't care less, but she had wondered why it was cancelled. The weather had been perfect. Then it hit her, maybe they were sending everyone else home for the year. That means she would have to spend more time with Melody.

They were instructed to go back to their dorms immediately. Lucille obeyed, and she was worried where Magnolia had gone. She told her she wasn't going to show up to this game since she had some work to do, but she was worried.

"Fred!" She called out to the red head boy who was walking next to her. He looked at her confused as why she was calling for him.

"I don't know what's going on, but I don't know where Magnolia is, I think she may be near the library." He nodded knowing exactly what she was asking him to do. Lucille knew he cared for Magnolia even though they hardly crossed paths.

———

Magnolia was walking through the dark corridor, she had noticed that the atmosphere seemed quiet and lonely. She got shivers up her spine thinking about the eerie environment. She had a feeling that something was wrong. She decided that she was going to head back towards the common room because of the eerie atmosphere.

"Magnolia? You here?" She heard a familiar voice call, she recognized it almost immediately. It was Fred Weasley's.

"Fred?" She called out in fear. She started rushing out, and around a corner until she ran into him.

"Owh!" They both cried as they held their heads. She looked up to see Fred who was in his Quidditch robes. She was wondering why he wasn't at his game since it should've started by now.

"Are you okay? Did I hurt you? Did anyone else hurt you?" He bombarded her with question to she just raised her eyebrow, and shook her head. She didn't know why he thought she was in danger, but she got butterflies.

"No, no ones hurt me, and I'm fine," she starts as Magnolia scratched her arm. "Why? What's wrong?"

"I don't know, but Quidditch got cancelled and everyone was instructed back to their common room." Fred said very quick. Magnolia was guessing that whatever happened was urgent and dangerous.

"I guess I'll go back to my common room then." She tells him, and he nods. She starts to walk away before he grabs her wrist, and twist her back around.

"Stay safe darling." He smiled widely, and she nodded as she blushed. She was hoping he couldn't see her blush, but he definitely could.

"You too Freddie." Magnolia mumbled. He took his hand away from her wrist as she waved as she left the corridor. Fred leaned against the corridor wall.

"What is this girl doing to me?" He mumbled. He only really let George call him Freddie. He really liked it when Magnolia called him that though. He jolted out of his trance realizing he had to get back to the Gryffindor Common Room.

Magnolia returned to her common room where she was immediately engulfed into a hug by Daphne. She pulled away looking confused.

"Have you heard?! Hermione Granger and Penelope Clearwater were petrified!" She cried as she pulled her cousin into another hug. She couldn't believe that there had been not only one, but two Petrifications.
"I thought you've might've gone down too!"

"It's fine Daph, I'm here now." Magnolia calmed down her cousin who wiped her eyes and sat down. They were told that they had to be taken to lessons, and had to be in by six o clock, all quidditch games were postponed, and then we have to be escorted by a teacher everywhere.

"This is going to be a living hell!" Theodore complained and Blaise nodded. Magnolia decided to call it early, and go up to her dorm. She looked at the parchment with the Valentine's note. It had been two months since Valentine's, and it was almost May. She looked at Oswald, the owl that sat in the girls dorm, and pulled out a parchment.

Dear whoever sent me a Valentine,

I know it's been months, but I wanna find out who you are. Things are crazy here aren't they? I've been pretty lonely lately. I have Lucille but the times feel rough. I can't wait for this year to be over, I'll be thirteen finally. My birthday is June twelfth, I know I'm young. Hope you're doing well.

- Maggie :)

She got up, and gave the letter to Oswald and whisperers "give this to whoever sent me the Valentine."

She opened the window, and then Oswald flew out towards the top of the castle. She was hoping Oswald was heading to Fred Weasley's dorm, but the letter could be from anyone.

She laid back in her bed, and opened a book she had gotten from the library. A little time had passed by before Oswald had arrived with a letter back. Magnolia had quickly gotten up to retrieve the letter, she quickly unraveled it and plopped back down on her bed.

Maggie,

It's okay you didn't answer for awhile, I don't mind. I actually talked to you today, it was nice. Happy early birthday, mine was in April. If you ever get lonely you can always owl me.

- Fred Weasley :)

She basically squealed when she saw the name signed. Her crush sent her a Valentine. She couldn't get the huge smile off of her face. She held the parchment close to her heart, and squeezed it. She grabbed her quill and parchment and started writing immediately.

Dear Freddie,

Nice to know it was you :)

I will owl you, it's nice having a Gryffindor friend. Also thanks for wishing me a happy birthday. I really appreciate it. I hope you don't mind me calling you Freddie, I like the name. Daphne and Pansy are coming up, I have to go.

- Mags

She quickly gave the letter to Oswald before Daphne and Pansy entered. They both looked at Magnolia weirdly as to why she looked like she was out of breath, but they shook it off. While Magnolia was staring at Daphne she had a voice in her head that was Daphne's

'When will Maggie act normal?'

"Are you talking about me Daphne?" Magnolia shot her head up. Daphne raised an eyebrow at her in confusion.

"You said 'when will Maggie act normal'?" Daphne's face went pale as she looked at Pansy with fear. Magnolia didn't know what she was scared about. She looked back to Daphne, and focused on her, to hear another voice.

'She just read my mind.'

Author's note-

Hello! I plan on finishing Year Two in the next chapter. I know it is kind of rushed, but I have no ideas for filler chapter between those times. Also I'm on Holiday, and don't have my Prisoner of Azkaban book with him for reference so Year Three won't be posted until this Wednesday or Thursday. Hope you enjoy
