-Two weeks later-
Gazing over the blue endless ocean, I smiled as I took a sip from my piná colada.

I had been in New York now for 2 weeks. About half of my time here was over. Now Drew, his best friend Chad, Hannah, Sophia, plus me were at the beach, having a grand time.

It was amazing, we were planning to be here for 3 nights. One was over already and here I was, sitting on the balcony, staring over the ocean.

"Hey Ruth, we're going into the water, you coming?" Sophia interrupted my train of thoughts and I glanced at her before standing up.

"Yea I'll be out in a few, you guys go on ahead."

She nodded and grinned, scurrying off.

I sighed and stretched, emptying my drink quickly. Walking inside, I set the glass on the table and slipped my top off, revealing my bikini.

Grinning, I ran out the door toward the beach.

"Finally the princess comes!" Hannah called, winking at me.

I smiled as I saw her kiss Drew. She was one happy gal.

"Watch out!" Hannah called out and I whirled around only to be ducked underwater.

Coming up sputtering, I turned to glare at a guilty Sophia. "There's salt in my mouth now." I whined, spitting the contents out of my mouth.

She laughed and grabbed my hand, running further into the water until we reached Hannah, Drew and Chad.

"Big wave coming!" Hannah shrieked, and I dove under it, feeling the pull.

Coming back up, I laughed as Hannah wiped her face, rubbing her eyes furiously.

"I thought you were ready for that one!" I exclaimed, glancing at Sophia who was already patiently waiting for the next big wave.

"I know but I thought I would catch it." She answered ruefully and I shook my head in amusement, looking back at the ocean.

-One hour later-

"Give me the popcorn." Sophia whined, holding her hand out.

I shook my head and held it away. "You ate a lot already! You're gonna get fat." I teased, grinning as she narrowed her eyes at me. "Give it!" She exclaimed.

"You're no fun." I grumbled as I handed her the bowl. She grinned and stuffed popcorn into her mouth, staring at the TV.

I yawned and got up from the floor, positioning myself beside Hannah on the couch.

Taking out my phone, I noticed I had a chat on Messenger. A smile spread over my face when I read it.

Austin: "Hey Babe. Just wanted to tell you that I miss you. :-*

Me: "You just made my day. <3 I miss you too, damn, I miss you so fricken much."

I smiled faintly as I watched Chad and Sophia quarreling over who gets more popcorn. Even though I missed Austin, I knew that it had been right to come here for awhile. These people had missed me too. And yes, I missed my goofy boyfriend but I would see him, in time.

"Why the hell can't Ruth come back?" Alex whined, kicking her feet at the sofa from where she was lying on the floor.

"Beats me." Emily agreed and winced when Alex accidentally kicked her.

I read the message Ruth sent me and paused my fingers over the screen, wondering what to write.
