I opened my eyes and realized I was resting across someone's chest. Irons breathed silently, his face relaxed. Carefully, I shifted my weight to get off of him and then the bed. I was sore between my legs, but I managed to get dressed into jeans, a t-shirt, a thick jacket, and laced boots.

"Okay, let's see what you have here," I sat at Irons' desk.

Swiping things around, I placed a hard drive on on the desk. I sorted more things around and then starting moving files into the hard drive. Anything with Manticore or Irons' plans listed went into the drive.

"Thank you very much," I whispered, looking to where Irons' was sprawled out naked in sheets. "Pleasure doing business with you."

I slipped out the bedroom door, clutching the hard drive tightly. The mansion was silent, but outside there were multiple groups of guards patrolling the ground. I snuck through them with ease, using the bushes to my advantage.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" a voice made me freeze from where I had reached the edge of the property.

"Leaving," I answered honestly.

"Step away from edge, girl. We'll discuss this with Irons," a second soldier spoke sternly, stepping forwards.

"Sorry," I braced my knees.

Leaping off the edge of the mansion grounds, I kept my eyes open. Straightening my legs, I crossed my arms and hit water harshly. My body ached from all the energy being used and my head spun from still being slightly drunk.

"Leave her!" the soldiers were arguing from above. "She's most likely dead."

"Good luck explaining this to Irons," one of them spat back.

I started swimming towards the closest shore, my legs aching badly. My head was spinning, but I fought it off, crawling onto the shore and hacking up alcohol.

"What do you think of going home?" a hand was reaching out to me.

Looking up, I smiled at Mitchell. Grabbing his hand gladly, I felt a blanket wrap around me. It had taken me a while to realize I was freezing cold.

"Home sounds nice," I leaned my head into his shoulder as his prosthetic-half-of-an-arm came around my shoulders.

"Here's your hard drive," I stormed into the briefing room.

Cormack stood with Knox and Gideon. "I'm glad you got it."

"I guess I should be," I slammed the small stick on the table. "But if I said I was, that'd be lying."

Gideon narrowed his eyes from where he leaned on a chair. My heart fluttered with joy from seeing the man, but I controlled myself. Damn, I wanted to wrap my arms around him so badly.

"You're excused to your quarters," Cormack said coolly, ignoring my attitude.

Turning on my heel, I stormed out of the room. No "thank you" or "I'm glad you're back" from anyone? They didn't know what I had to go through to get the information. The thought of what had happened just hours before made me shudder.

"Explain," Gideon spoke, walking next to me.

It hadn't surprised me he had been told to follow me. "I don't have to."

Slamming me into a small room where soldiers could eat, Gideon kicked the door shut and pushed me into a wall. "I'm still your Captain, so you should tell me."

His blue gaze was almost impossible to go against. He knew that my weakness was him and that he could do almost nothing to get me to do what he wanted.

"I can't," I whispered, his hands on my shoulders and mine on his biceps.

"Please tell me, Keona," Gideon released me.

"I'm just pissed off that I didn't even get a thank you from Cormack," I breathed, wanting Gideon to stay close to me. "I had to go through a....lot."

Gideon's eyes narrowed. "Did he touch you?"

I pressed my lips together and looked away. Gideon's gentle hands clutched my cheeks.

"Keona."

"To be able to get the file," I felt myself started to cry, "I had to....to...."

Gideon pulled me into him and held my head with his hand. "It's alright Keona."

"It's not," I whispered and pulled away. "I'm lucky I can't have children, because he was so drunk and trying so hard."

Gideon's gaze became dark.

"This won't change anything," I went to slip past him. "What's done is done."

Gideon's hand wrapped around my wrist harshly.

"Ow!" I growled when he pulled me back to the wall. "Let me go!"

"Not everything has been done, Keona," Gideon was suddenly smashing me up against the wall.

I wanted to scream like a dying witch when his lips were smashed to mine. His hands gripped my cheeks tightly, but not out of anger-out of not wanting to let me go. I had thought my head was spinning before, now it was off my body flying around the room.

Gideon pulled back slightly, his lips inches from mine. His breath was like a gentle warm breeze, making me shudder with excitement.

"I missed you Keona," his voice was thick and I felt like my knees were going to give out.

"I-I-Gideon," I breathed and his chuckle rippled down my neck.

His lips touched mine for a moment more before he pulled away, detaching my arms from around his neck.

Don't go. Don't leave me like this. I want more!

"Wait," I reached out.

"Goodnight," Gideon was clearly dismissing me.

And I was left alone in the moonlit room with no idea of how to walk.
