"So Mark was a bit of a wild guy" Lexie says "sounds lots like my Mark"

Meredith had to agree, Mark Sloan and Mark Torres were lots alike. Both wildly handsome, both smart, both funny and both wild. They both definitely knew how to make the most out of life, but most importantly, they both loved a girl named Lexie with all of their heart.

Everyone loved Mark, and Meredith was glad her baby sister and her daughter ended up with two great guys.

Suddenly, Ellie's phone rang. She smiled, but clicked ignore before typing a quick reply.

"Who was that?" Bailey asked suspiciously.

"It was just Isaac" Ellie shrugged. This time, Meredith raised her eyebrows.

Isaac Karev was the son of Alex and Jo Karev. He had a twin sister, Ivy, and was born two years after Ellie, but a year before Lexie.

"Wasn't he hanging out with PJ and Mark though?" Lexie asked Ellie.

PJ was Christina's son with Burke. Preston Xavier Burke Junior is about five years older than Zola, but he grew up with all the kids so they were still quite close. Though, he was better friends with Dr.Baileys son Tuck.

Most of Meredith's friends had children around the time Lexie and Ellie were born. Except Christina's second son with Owen, Oliver, Jo and Alex had the twins a year before Lexie, April and Jackson had their triplets Jack, Hope and Faith the year after Ellie was born and Callie adopted Mark six months before Lexie came.

That basically meant, during play dates when the kids were little, they broke off into groups.

Zola, Pj, Tuck, Sofia and Oliver in one group, Ellie, Ivy, Hope and Faith in another and Bailey, Isaac and Jack in the last one.

"Guys" Zola butt in "I don't care who Ellie is flirting with, I don't care who Mark was hanging out with. Let Mom finish her story!" Zola hated talking about Pj, because it reminded her of Oliver. She'd always had a thing for him, but just recently he started seeing a cute blonde named Kate.

"Okay cranky" Lexie and Ellie both backed off, and Meredith began telling her story again.

Meredith's POV:

After my shift was over, as promised, Mark picked me up.

"I hope this place isn't too fancy" I joke as we drive away from the hospital.

"Well you look amazing either way" Mark smiles.

I was wearing a black spaghetti strap dress, with a red wrap and black heels. My hair was curled and I had my face all painted to perfection with make up.

"You look pretty good yourself" I compliment. And Mark does look amazing. His hair is styled, and he's wearing a blue button down shirt that brings out his eyes with a pair of black pants and a matching coat.

And I'm very grateful we dressed so well, because the restaurant Mark picked is the fancy kind with candles and bubbly water.

"I'm usually not a fan of places this fancy shmansy" Mark says as we're seated "but this seemed appropriate for a good date. As long as we're both awkward and uncomfortable together, it'll be a good night" he jokes and I smile. I'm glad he's so straight forward. It's a trait I value.

"Well all the food on this menu looks good" I say as I skin through the options "the fish seems like it'd be good, but the chicken also seems amazing"

"Well how about this" Mark suggests "I order fish, you get the chicken and then we'll share"

So he was a food sharer? Also something I liked. "Okay"

Halfway through my fish/chicken, Marks phone rings.

"I'm so sorry, it's the hospital in New York and I can't ignore it" he seems genuinely apologetic, but I get it. Surgeons don't get a free moment when people have their lives on the line.

"It's fine, go go. I'll be here when you get back" I don't consider this rude at all, which I guess is a perk of dating a surgeon.

I assume dinner will continue as planned, but when Mark returns he has that sad and concerned doctor face on. The one that says someone is dying.

"I've got a patient in New York, he was in a fire and he's a severe burn victim. I got a call that he's been having problems since I did his surgery a month or so ago, but he's back in the hospital. They need me in New York by the morning. No one else knows his case as well as I do, and they haven't had time to hire another plastics attending" his face seems like he's expecting me to be mad.

Instead, I stand up and I kiss him. "It's okay. You should go, be a superhero and save someone's life. When you get back we can go out somewhere less awkward and uncomfortable" I joke.

"Merry, if you keep on being this perfect, I might find myself falling in love with you" he kisses me and pays the check, but his words run through my mind.

He could fall in love with me. Something Derek apparently couldn't do.

Pushing Derek as far away from my mind as possible, I focus on Mark and how truly amazing he is.

A/n- yes Christina kept both kids. It's an AU and I figured...why not?
Anyway, comment and vote! Thanks for reading!
