A/n- I got a lovely comment on chapter 11 from @Love_to_read8 ! Thank you so so much for you're compliment on the book! So, as promised, chapter 13 will follow this one!

"You and Mark seemed so happy" Ellie sighed. She was always a sucker for true love, love in general, and sappy movies. She read romance books and even went to plays at the theatre. Ellie Shepard-Grey was a sucker for love.

"Well, we were I guess" Mer shrugged. She and Mark weren't really together for long, but she did love him. She just wasn't in love with him the way she was with Derek. She always loved Derek, she just tried not to.

"Why didn't you two work out?" Bailey asked.

"That comes a bit later on in the story. You'll see, don't worry" Mer winked.

"I can't believe it took so long for you and Daddy to get married" Lexie sighed "you could've been happy that whole time, but he chose Dr.Montgomery"

"That's just who Derek is. They were in love for twelve years. And he wouldn't have been Derek if he didn't try to be the bigger person and make it work" Meredith smiled softly, remembering when she told Derek those exact words.

"I guess" Lexie sighed.

"I wanna hear about this bloodbath you called a 'double date'" Zola smirked, rubbing her hands together. Meredith laughed.

"It was very interesting...let's see I got ready in the locker room after my shift was over..."

******************************

Meredith's POV:

I was getting ready in the locker room after my shift was over. I was kinda nervous for the double date, but I knew it was going to be interesting.

"The she-Shepard is going to bust you up, Mer" Christina smirked as she changed out of her scrubs. She and Izzie and George were planning on going to joes just to see what went down. Of course, Christina made up a fake cleanse she was going on that included no alcohol so no one would guess she's still pregnant.

"Burke is going to bust you up when he finds out your still pregnant" I muttered under my breath, as I pulled on some jeans.

"I'm not telling him, Mer" she sighed "he doesn't need to know"

"That's his kid in there Christina, he does need to know. He deserves to know. Yes, he dumped you. But he's a good man and he deserves to know if you're aborting his baby" I told her. I totally disagreed with her decision, and I didn't agree to leave Burke in the woods. But in the end, Christina did whatever the hell she wanted anyway, despite what we all thought.

"Look Mer, I'll tell him when he proves he deserves to be told" Christina sighed, running a head through her hair.

"Be careful. You're already getting fat" I joked

She groaned "I'm sure it'll be taken care of soon" she muttered before leaving abruptly.

I sighed. As I pulled on a pink blouse. Shoving my feet into some flats, I threw on some mascara and lipgloss before shutting my locker and heading out to my car.

Ten minutes later, I was sitting with Mark in joes waiting for Addison and Derek to show up.

"Ten bucks says they bail and we get a lame-o excuse about long running surgeries in the morning" Mark says.

"Twenty says they show and argue over something completely dumb the entire time" I say, as I sip my martini.

"You're on" he shakes my hand, smiling.

As if on cue, Derek and Addison walk into the bar, arguing over what to get Derek's mom for her birthday.

"She'll love the Italian sheets though, Derek!" Addison said.

"But we had the same ones! Just get her some candles! She loves the flower scented ones!" Derek argued back.

"Well. You win with flying colours" Mark hands me a twenty and I laugh.

"She won what?" Derek asked.

"Oh, we had a bet that she couldn't down two shots faster than me" Mark casually lied, winking at me.

"Well, okay then. Why don't we get some drinks and sit over at a table?" Derek asks. We all agree, and get our drinks before sitting in a booth in the back.

"So Addison, how have you been?" Mark asked casually. Addison shot him an ice cold glare before taking a long sip of her drink.

"Ten bucks says she makes a snappy comment" I whisper just loud enough for Mark to hear.

"Twenty says she chucks it at me" he says back, continuing our little game.

"Meredith, I heard you were in surgery with Dr.Bailey, how'd it go?" Derek asks nicely, but he noticeably stiffens when Mark put his arm around me.

"It went amazing actually. Our patient lived, so it was successful" I smile, and lean into Marks arm.

Derek smiled and sipped his drink.

"So Addie, how are you?" Mark asked her again. Addison looked at Derek, and he gave her a 'be nice' look.

"I'm good, how are you?" She smiled stiffly.

"I'm great. How are you Derek?" He asked, still smiling.

"Fine Mark. I'm fine" he muttered.

"Merry, how are you?" He asked me.

I smiled "I'm good, thanks"

Derek, on the other hand, began to choke on his scotch.

"Merry?" He asked.

"It's a nickname" Mark said smirking.

Derek sighed, looking extremely over this whole double date idea.

"So Addison, are you guys going to be celebrating your thirteen year anniversary?" Mark asked sweetly.

And I swear to god, I never though she'd do it. But she threw her entire drink at Marks face, before stomping off. I laughed as I handed him the same twenty he handed me minutes before.

"You made bets on what Addie would do?" Derek asked. All I could do was laugh. Derek eventually chuckled a bit, before leaving with Addison.

"That was such an awful date" I laugh as I help dry off Mark's face.

"What, no. Best date I've ever been on" Mark smiled "but on our next date, we should ditch the not so happy couple"

A/n- this is a long chapter. Lol I love Mark. He's such a doll.
