"So you actually went on a date with Mark?" Ellie asked Meredith. Mer nodded, smiling.

"Mark was a great guy. And our time together was...intense. Nothing more, just intense and stressful"

"How is something as simple as a date that good stressful?" Bailey asked.

"Well, things were great when he got back from New York and they stayed great for a while after. But once Christmas hit, things got messy and starting going at full speed" Meredith was describing things after Christmas vaguely. After all, she still had to tell them about what went on when Mark returned from New York.

"Well, hurry up and tell us what happened when he got back from New York!" Zola said "I wanna know what happened around Christmas"

Meredith chuckled, and started up her story telling.

*****************************************

Meredith's POV:

It had been two days since Mark left for New York, and I missed him.

A part of me genuinely missed him and his smile and his laugh and his sense of humour. But another part, a significantly smaller part, didn't trust myself around Derek.

We were friends, but It was hard. His laugh, his smile, that McDreamy look, even his smell was enough to make me want to cry. He didn't want me, but I knew I'd always love him.

"Mer, why do you keep seeing Mark?" Derek asked me one day, as we studied CTs together. A patient had a head trauma, and we were trying to look over everything to rule out any possible brain bleeds or swelling.

"I know you don't think it, because he slept with your wife and all, but he's sweet. He's funny, he shares food at restaurants, he is really caring and he's a nice guy" I say, smiling softly.

"Mark is a cheater, he cheats on people and sleeps with whoever he wants, married or not" Derek tells me "I don't want you to expect so much from someone who has so little to offer"

"Like you?" I say, as he turns to look at me "I thought the world of you, I thought you hung the damn moon. But you were married, you were a cheater, and you made me expect great things from you even though I shouldn't have bothered. You and Mark, you're one in the same. Mark has admitted he screwed up, but you won't. He may hurt me, but he'll admit it if he does"

Derek stands there, speechless for a moment. "How has Mark admitted he screwed up?" Derek asks me.

"We're both in the dirty mistress club. That's confessing that were dirty mistresses who slept with married people" I tell him.

"Meredith you aren't a dirty mistress" Derek says softly.

Suddenly, the hallway door opens up and none other than Mark Sloan walks through them.

"Merry!" He greets me smiling.

I run to him, so excited that he's finally back, and I jump into his arms. He catches me, and spins me around.

"I missed you" he puts me back on the floor, and I rest my head on his chest. His arms around me, and I feel so safe and secure. I feel happy in his arms.

I haven't felt like that since Derek.

"I was only gone for three days" he chuckles.

"Three days too long Dr.Barbie" I look up at him and smile, and he kisses my forehead. It's a simple gesture, but I like it. It's thoughtful and full of care.

"Dr.Barbie?" He chuckles "what about McSteamy" he asks.

"Can't have my friends calling my boyfriend McSteamy" I say "and you're a plastic surgeon. And Barbie definitely had a nose job"

He laughs, the rumble of his chest makes me smile. "Well, why not give me a good nickname? Considering I've been dubbed your boyfriend and all" he smirks.

I laugh. "I have a case with Derek. I'll see you for drinks after my shift" I turn, and walk back to where Derek was standing.

"I can't remember the last time I saw you that happy" Derek murmurs.

"Easy, it was before Addison let the cat, or should I say wife?, out of the bag" I tell him "now, we got a man with what looks like a bleed in the frontal lobe with minimal swelling, which is good. Let's go and fix him up before I have drinks with my boyfriend" I tell him.

"So Mark is your official boyfriend, you're exclusive?" He asks me, surprised. His eyes were as wide as saucers.

"Excuse me, Dr.Shepard, but are you a world class neuro surgeon or a thirteen year old gossip? Or maybe you're going to co-star with Blake Lively on gossip girl. A spin off, gossip doctors" I tease, before walking away.

A/n- sorry it's so short. I got new nails on and it's hard to type with them. But this chapter is still more than 700 words which isn't that bad.

I'm thinking of writing a crowen fan fic, because I ship them. If you'd read it comment and I'll post a story description in a A/N. Maybe if I get a comment on this chapter, I'll do another double update?

Thanks so much for reading, it means lots to me.

Vote, comment, and check out my other works if you have time! Thanks!
