Jordan-13
The next day, when Jordan went to school, everything seemed to be fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. She slowly felt the guilt leaving her; she managed to fool her father and her teacher. At least that's what she thought. When she got to her classroom, she hadn't seen her teacher, Ms. Blye. But that didn't bother her; she kept a straight face and went about her day thinking she pulled it off.
Meanwhile
Hank was at the district going over something in his office. The team was quietly typing at their desks. Trudy was at her desk in the main part of the district when a woman, Jordan's teacher, Ms. Blye, walked in. Trudy recognized her from the school events she would attend with Hank and Jordan.
"Sergeant Platt, wonderful to see you." Ms. Blye said.
"Ms. Blye, wonderful to see you as well. Is everything alright with Jordan?" Trudy asked.
"Everything is fine. I was wondering if Sergeant Voight was available. I don't wanna take up too much of his time."
"He's upstairs now; I can bring you up if you'd like."
"Absolutely, please."
The older woman assigned someone to the desk while she escorted the young teacher up to the squad. They walked up the steps to the squad. Everyone heard footsteps and looked to see their desk Sergeant with Jordan's teacher. They didn't wanna say anything and risk getting into trouble. Trudy knocked on Hank's door, and the older man looked up.
"Hank, you have a visitor," Trudy said.
"Send them in, Trudy," Hank told his friend, putting the files away.
Trudy allowed the young teacher to enter the office and closed the door. The older man was indeed surprised to see his daughter's teacher. He immediately signed for her to sit across from him in the chair.
"Ms. Blye, please have a seat," Hank said politely.
"Thank you, Sergeant Voight. I will try not to take up a lot of your time. I understand you're very busy." Ms. Blye replied.
"Never too busy for my daughter, what can I do for you?"
"I was looking over Jordan's math test, and something seemed wrong when she brought it back."
"She told me you haven't passed it back yet."
She pulled a folder out, and the piece of paper was Jordan's failed math test. She handed it to him. Hank gently took the paper and frowned.
"She got a D."
"She hasn't told you she's been failing?"
"No. And that's not my signature."
"I sent Jordan home with a note, and she brought it back. I take it this is not your signature either?"
She gave him the note, and he looked at it and saw the signature, which wasn't his either. "I don't believe it; she forged my signature twice."
"Has she shown you her report card?"
"It was forged too; it had to have been."
She pulled out a copy of Jordan's report card and passed it to him. Hank took it, read it, and tried to keep his composure. "She failed all her classes, and she's forging my name. I had no idea about any of this."
"I have brought it up with her about having a parent-teacher conference to see how we can help her, and it seemed like she pushed it off, saying you were busy. I just wanted to come to you about my concerns."
"We will definitely do that."
"There was another thing: the principal gathered all the staff this morning. Our systems appear to have been hacked, and we believe a student was responsible because a report card was changed."
"You think it was Jordan?"
"Hers was the only one that was altered, but because it was done on a school's computer, we don't have the proof or evidence that it was her."
"I'll definitely deal with this."
"If you have the time, you could come down to the school to resolve this as soon as possible."
"Of course."
The two gathered their stuff and left the office. Everyone looked but didn't say anything. The young teacher went to her car, Hank went to his, and they drove to the school. Ms. Blye called the principal ahead of time, informing him that she and Hank were on their way and asking him to pull Jordan from class.
While
Jordan was still in class, and everything still seemed to be going fine. She was in class, trying to pay attention, when the door opened, and the Principal walked in.
"Mr. Thomas, I need to see Jordan Voight, please."
All the students looked at Jordan and 'Ohhh'd' as she got up, grabbing her stuff. She felt her heart race as everyone started snickering and whispering. Mr. Thomas then looked at everyone.
"Alright, enough of that. Back to the lesson."
Jordan followed the principal out to his office. She was hoping, even praying, she wasn't busted. But it felt as if she was busted and everything she worked for went down the drain. They got to the office, and inside waiting were Ms. Blye and Hank.
The preteen froze upon seeing her father; she was indeed busted. Hank stood there with his arms folded across his chest.
"Jordan Lynn, we need to talk."
