 Jordan-13

Jordan watched, her heart pounding, as the deputy cuffed her father. With shaky hands and a racing mind, she quickly typed out a 911 text to Trudy and the rest of her father's team before dialing Antonio's number with trembling fingers.

"Tonio!" Jordan cried. "My dad's being arrested."

Meanwhile

Antonio had just returned home after a grueling day at work. He sank into his couch, letting out a weary sigh, when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and saw Jordan's name flash across it, along with a frantic text.

"Jo, hey sweetheart, everything alright?" Antonio asked, answering.

"Tonio!" Jordan cried. "My dad's being arrested."

The dark-haired detective shot up from his couch. "Jo, calm down, take a breath, honey. What happened"

He heard her take a shuddering breath as her voice came back. "My dad and I were going home when a deputy stopped us. He said my dad was driving erratically, but he wasn't, I swear. My dad showed his badge and identified himself, but it didn't matter. He asked my dad if he had his weapon, and he did. He made my dad get out of the car and searched him. I stayed in the car, and they were talking to my dad, then came to get me. My dad said the deputy had to search the car, and I stayed with my dad. The deputy found something in the trunk, I think he said weapons. They're not my dad's, I swear, and now he arrested my dad."

Antonio's heart sank as he listened to her, the weight of the situation crashing down on him. He knew he had to act fast to help Jordan and her father. He was already on his way out the door, running back down to his car.

"It's alright, sweetheart, I need you to stay calm for me. Where are you?" He kept his tone calm and reassuring to keep her calm.

"They took us to their station, they put my dad in a different car than me, and had my dad's car towed. They put my dad in a different room. He said to call you, I texted everyone else to be safe."

"Smart girl, don't worry, we're all on the way. Don't say a word until any of us gets there."

"I wanna see my dad, but they won't let me. I think they said something about calling DCFS. I don't wanna be taken from my dad. He didn't do anything!'

That realization made Antonio freeze mid-stride, a chill running down his spine. The thought of Hank ever losing Jordan was dreadful; it would tear their family apart, shattering the bond they built. He could picture the devastation on Hank's face, the anguish of a father separated from his daughter under the most unjust of circumstances.

But more than that, he couldn't shake the gut-wrenching fear for Jordan herself. The thought of her caught in the tangled web of the foster care system sent a wave of nausea through him. The system was notorious for its coldness, stripping away the familiar comforts of home and plunging children into chaos. As the daughter of a former dirty cop turned highly respected cop, Jordan would face utter hell. Antonio had seen many cases where they lost kids in the system over the years, and Jordan wouldn't be one.

"Tonio, I don't wanna leave my dad."

"It's gonna be fine, honey, we're all on the way. Text us the address."

"You guys will get here soon, won't you?"

"I promise we will. Jordan, remember. Don't say a word to anyone until we get there."

Antonio hung up, his heart racing as he glanced at his phone screen. Every member of the intelligence team had responded to Jordan's frantic text, confirming they were en route to help their boss and his daughter. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on him, but knowing they were united gave him a glimmer of hope.
