**Still Draco's POV**
The next morning when I get up the first thing I do is look for Lydia. It's Sunday, so we have no classes.
I follow a couple of Slytherins out of our common room and then I head towards Gryffindor's. I'm walking nearer to the library when I spot her up ahead with her brother and friends. It looks as if they've just left the library, and they're very deep in discussion. Still, I march up to them.
I walk right up to Lydia. Her friends don't notice me, they're still talking. I put my hand on her shoulder. 'Let's talk. In here,' I nod to the library. She agrees and yells to her friends she'd meet them in the great hall soon.
We walk into the library and sit in a corner away from everyone else. No one even knows that we're here, I think. I rake my hand through my slicked back hair while she looks at me with curiosity.
'So, why did you want to talk?' she asks. I don't reply. 'Draco- Drac, are you okay?!' she looks concerned.
I open my mouth to assure her I am, but I stop. Then I do something so drastic, stupid and unexpected, I even surprise myself with the move.
I kiss her. I... I just lean in and... I'm not even sure. I don't know what's made me do it. But I what I do know is she kisses back. She seems uncertain, but excited? And kind of... happy?
After a few seconds I pull away.
'What- what just happened?' she asks, eyes wide, tracing the inside of her lips with her tongue.
'I'm not sure, to be quite honest. I, uh. I'm so sorry, I don't know why I did it... I guess I was scared of losing you for good to... that guy...' I stutter.
'I'm not complaining, let's make that clear,' she grins cheekily. 'And.. who? Wait, no. You didn't- you didn't find out- I mean, see Dean and I on a "date"?' she asks, showing the sarcasm on "date".
I nod, looking at my black, polished shoes.
'Oh, that was nothing,' she scoffed. 'That wasn't even an official date... and he dumped me, I guess you'd call it, before anything'd even started,' she smiles, slightly sadly. I suddenly want to go punch that idiot for making my Lydia feel upset.
I put my hand delicately on her's. 'Are you okay?' I ask, looking at her, while she looks out the window.
'Of course,' she says, in her usual happy-go-lucky tone. 'I mean, nothing had even happened. Plus one of my friends liked him, and I couldn't really date him- properly, I mean, if I did like him a lot anyway.'
'Why's that? She couldn't have stopped you, right?'
'Right. But, it wouldn't be fair, see, because 1. She liked him first and 2. I like someone else anyway.'
I can feel myself blush an identical red to her cheeks. 'And who would that would be?' I say shyly.
In an almost matching tone she whispers, 'well, I had my first kiss with him... which was a pretty good first kiss, if you ask me,' she giggles, looking back out the window.
I lean over to her and kiss her cheek. 'Nice to know, Lyds,' I say winking, causing her to giggle more. 'Now I'm hungry, so I'm going to the hall. Care to join? To the doors, at least,' I offer her my arm, which she gladly takes, grinning and blushing, making her look like the cutest girl I've ever laid my eyes on.

**Lydia's POV y'all!**
'Hermione!' I whisper-shout to her at the Gryffindor table.
'What?' she hisses back.
'I need to tell you something. It's important,' I say, smiling slyly.
'What are you whispering about?' Harry jumps in.
I tell him it's nothing and continue eating. On the outside I feel like I'm calm and collected, maybe smiling a little, but anyone'd think it was because of the twins joking around next to me. On the inside, however, I feel... I don't know. I feel happy- I mean my crush kissed me. He likes me back, and he was really protective of me when he found out what Dean did. It was sweet and it made me feel... special, I guess. Everyones interested in Harry, but although I have a lot of friends, I feel like some only really want to hang out with me because they want to know all about my brother. But Draco, he's not like that. He likes me- for me. He's so sweet and I think I really like him.
I also feel concerned. What if Harry finds out and kills me... or Draco. And I'm being serious about killing Draco. Harry's my only brother and I'm his only sister- back home we only have each other. He's always insisted on looking out for me- because I'm a girl and "need taking care of". (As if)! But Harry loves me, and I appreciate that, even though he's a bit too worried about me sometimes. Draco can't be that bad... right? Pfft, of course he can't- he's an 11 year old, at a school, with Dumbledore as headmaster. Dumbledore may be weird, but he's amazing.
'Lydia!' I feel a sharp tap on my shoulder, pulling me from my thoughts.
'What Fredddd?' I grumble.
'Just wanted to know if you'd come and hang out by the lake with us?' He mentions to George and himself.
When I think of the lake, I think of Draco and I. So that's the first reason to say no..., 'Well, I actually really need to talk to Hermie and then I think the four of us are going to research Ni- uh, a project. For one of our classes.' I turn to Ron and Harry. 'Right?' They nod, confirming.
Soon Hermione and I have finished and we rush up to the common room and straight into the dorm. A few girls are already in there. Including Padma. Which is good.
'So, I'm guessing this is about,' she makes her eyebrows wiggle up and down, 'Draco and your discussion in the library this morning?' When I nod, she continues. 'Harry and Ron wanted to go in and see what you guys were up to. I wouldn't let them, though,' she smirks.
I smile in thanks and then call for Padma to come over to Hermione and I.
She half-smiles, 'what's going on?'
'I just wanted to let you know that Dean and I... we're not a thing. Oh, and I think- don't you dare take my word on it- but, I think he might like someone.'
Her mouth drops open. 'What?! Oh my gosh! Who?' she grabs onto my arm. She seems to suddenly register what I said. 'Oh, um, by the way, are you alright?' she releases my arm.
'Oh, me? I'm fine. But anyways. Back to Dean. I'm about 82% sure that he likes...' I draw it out, to give her some suspense. 'You!' I finish. She squeals, thanks me and runs back to a slightly stumped looking Lavender. Hermione and I watch them for a second, looking away when we see Lavender's puzzled face break into one of delight.
'So what happened with you and Draco?' Hermione snaps my attention back to our conversation.
I smile, with an air of mystery. 'Guess.'
Hermione groans in reply. 'You... found a really cool book?'
I roll my eyes and sigh loudly. 'Pfft. No, stupid! He... kissed me,' I smile at the floor and feel my face go a bright shade of red. It also grows warm, much to Hermione's amusement.
'Ooh, Harry's gonna kill you!' she says in a sing song voice.
I nod. 'I know. That's why you're not going to breathe a WORD,' I warn. She huffs, but agrees. 'You're going to have to tell him one day,' she points out. I tell her I know, and start to gather my stuff for the library.
