They entered the forest just before the darkness of the night fell on them. Thranduil didn't go very deep into it, he just found a place that was suitable for some sleep. He knew he couldn't get a fire going, the trees and etns would resent that, so he put on a black cloak and leaned against a tree. He had a feeling he was being watched, that his entry hadn't gone unoticed, but he couldn't sense any danger. Maybe he was just being paranoid...
She sat before him, looking at him. He was sound asleep, resting so peacefully. He was so beautiful, she had never seen someone like him before. She reached out a hand and caressed his hair very carefully, running her fingers lightly alongside his jawline. She knew she had to get going, he could wake up any minute. It was still dark, but being so close to him could be dangerous. She noticed his hands, which was bruised. He must have been fighting. He looked like a warrior. She looked at the horse resting with it's back towards her, all bruised too. She was well aware of the evil lurking in Middle Earth, that it was risky to be on your own, but she felt at ease having this sleeping ellon in the forest with her. She decided to watch over him for the rest of the night, to make sure he was safe. She couldn't get any sleep anyway. She looked at his face one more time before she got up to hide. She smiled. She had no idea who he was, but she liked him already.
