I woke up to my alarm going off. It's Tuesday. I think.
I had the strangest dream last night, it was about Damen, and he was a Fallen angel. And I used to be an angel. I guess that's my minds fantasy version of how I got my scars. I'm going to tell Damen about my dream when I see him at school. I also remember Damen had a huge mansion. And I kissed his identical brother. Well at least It just was a dream. I thought.
After I got dressed I went to make my bed. On the floor I saw a black feather. Wait, was that a dream? I picked up the feather and put it on my desk before I ran downstairs to get a quick breakfast. I put some frozen pancakes in the toaster, and when they popped I ate them quickly as I went to the door to get my bag and put on a jacket. I headed out the door to the bus stop.Damen met me at the front door of the school. "Hey,"
"I had a crazy dream last night,"
"Yeah? About what?" He was smiling.
"Well, you were like a Fallen angel and I used to be an angel, and you flew me around,"
"That's what happened,"
"...you mean I wasn't dreaming?"
"No, after I flew you around you fell asleep so I brought you back to your house."
"Oh," well I guess I wasn't dreaming. So that means I actually used to be an angel. Huh. I used to be an Angel. Realizing what that meant, I wanted to freak out. But not right now with all these people. I was a freaking angel from heaven. Oh my gosh.
The bell rang and Damen walked with me to class. It's hard to concentrate on 'if 3x + 16 -x= 43, what is x?' When you find out your not even human and came from heaven. We've been assigned questions 1-9. I looked over and Damen was already on 7. I'm on 2. I sighed.
The rest of the day was like math, and I just let my mind wonder. When the dismissal bell rang I put all the things I didn't finish in my bag and headed out.________________
~Damen~I walked out of the school doors and headed over to Hana. It's hard not to see her when her aura is so much brighter than everyone else's. When she saw me she said, "oh my gosh I have so many questions! I've been dying all day to know some more about myself. And you,"
"Would you like to go to my house again?"
I was hoping she would, because I wanted to fly her into the sky again. The way her eyes lit up when she saw above the clouds were priceless. I knew she would like it better when the sun was out, but I can't fly as high, especially carrying her.
"Okay, I need to work on my homework though,"
We headed to my jeep. I actually stole that jeep a while ago. I've got plenty secrets Hana doesn't know about to be honest. I feel bad not telling her, but, I mean, I live in The Underworld for a reason. After she got in, I went over to the driver side and sped away to my house. I don't call it my home because it's not, it's just a place to stay while me and my siblings are staying on earth. As we drove, I tried yet again to reach into Hana's mind but it's blocked. It's not that I want to invade her privacy, but I'm used to knowing everyone's thoughts.
Once we arrived and got out of the jeep, I headed to the door. Usually as soon as I walk in I'm used to taking off my hoodie and stretching my wings. They get all cramped up from being squished up for so long. But I'm not sure if Hana would think that was weird or strange. She walked in next to me and took off her shoes and jacket. She was wearing a t-shirt underneath and jeans. She should wear skinny jeans more often, I thought. I decided the best room for her to do her homework, (I finished mine in class) and ask questions was in the teen-retreat room, inside is a couch with a TV, and a table too. There's also a mini fridge. But we have one of those in almost every room.
"Oh this is room is big, but I'm suprised your tv isn't bigger, considering the size of everything else,"
"Well it used to be, but Derek moved the big TV into his 'video game room'"
"How many rooms do you have?" She sat down in the couch and started looking through her bag before taking out a note book and text book. "I never counted,"
"Oh,"
"Didnt you have other questions?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah. Well, I was wondering, since angels are like people that died, who I used to be before I became an angel,"
At first I was confused by her question. Then I realized. "I forgot that humans assume that angels are what happens to their kind when they pass over. No, angels are not human nor did they ever used to be. Angels are another creation from the Master, they live in heaven and they all have different jobs. Like helping the dead pass on, and blessing humans when they are born. Some are like messengers, and there are guardian angels too who's jobs are to help guide humans to make the right choices,"
"What was my job?"
"Well if you were only 4, I don't think you had a job yet,"
"Well I guess that was a stupid question," she looked embarrassed.
"No, it's not. You can ask anything you like, I won't judge,"
There were some questions I hoped she didn't ask about me, though. She started writing in her notebook and I just watched her, she looked so graceful writing. Well, I thought she looked graceful doing anything. "Is heaven really in the sky above the clouds? Because when we flew up there I didn't see it. And is Hell really under ground?"
I couldn't help it and laughed. "What? You said I could ask anything!"
"Well, the answer is no, heaven and hell aren't able to be reached by humans. By the way, I'd prefer if you called my home the Underworld instead of hell,"
"Oh, sorry,"
"Anyway, heaven and the Underworld are different dimensions. There's portals that allow you to go there. Humans are unaware of this. But you can't just find portals, you make them. Using power, or magick. Since I only have dark magick, I can only make a portal to the Underworld. Making one for heaven requires light Magick."
She looked like she was processing that in her head.
"So how did I fall down to earth?"
"Well don't ask me, I wasn't there."
"But aren't there others like me?"
"Probably not," I didn't like when she talked about when she fell. It's not like I knew any answers to that.
"When I was 4, wouldn't you have been 5? What 5 year old does something bad enough to get sent to he-the underworld?" I could tell she was about to say hell and stopped herself.
"Well, I wasn't 5. Actually, today, I'm currently 276 years old,"
Hana dropped her pencil and stared at me. "You don't look that old,"
"Well angels and fallen angels are immortal. Well, angels are immortal. Not Fallen angels. We need to find enough power to keep us from aging."
"How?"
"There's different ways. Anyway, is that all your questions?"
She looked like she was thinking. "Actually I have a question," I said. "Would it creep you out if I took out my wings?"
"No, I think your wings look magnificent." Relieved that I could finally unfurl my wings, I took off my hoodie and the shirt underneath and spread out my wings. Hana was watching me. She thought my wings looked magnificent? But they are black, the opposite of what angels are like. I sat back down beside her and put one of my wings behind her. She put her homework back in her bag and leaned against my wing. I knew my wings would start to ache if she pressed against it for so long but I certainly wouldn't tell her that. What do most teenagers do when they are hanging out? They watch movies. It seemed so mundane, but I decided to ask anyways. "Do you want to watch a movie?"
"Okay,"
I heard footsteps coming toward the room. Angie's head popped in. "Did I hear you were going to watch a movie? Without me?!" I sighed. I would rather be alone with Hana. I was about to say that when Hana beat me to it. "Ya, come join us!" It looked like Hana wanted to spend time with Angie too. I didn't. "Ohhh so what are we watching?"
Angie plopped down on the couch beside Hana. Realizing that I had my wings exposed, she gasped. "Are you telling me that I've been wearing this stupid hoodie for nothing? You guys don't tell me anything!" Angie took off just her hoodie and took out her wings. Her top had a really low back to it so her wings weren't under it. Angie has smaller wings than me. "Oh, your wings are so pretty!" Hana admired Angie's wings like she did with mine. I wanted Hana to admire me not my siblings too! "So what movie do you want to watch?"
"Um, let's watch Twilight" Angie answered, "I was asking Hana, not you," My sister could be so annoying sometimes. "Twilight sounds good," Hana agreed.
"Great! I'll get the popcorn!" Angie dashed out of the room. "She seems nice," Hana commented. No she's not, I wanted to say. But I realized that Hana had no friends. She really did need a girl to gossip with, paint nails with, and do whatever else girls like to do with each other. "Yeah, she is,"
I got the movie set up and the 3 of us watched it together. Even though I couldn't fly her, Hana had a great time, and that's all that mattered. I could tell she didn't do things like this much, and even though I considered it mundane, Hana considered it normal.
