Recap: He started to move closer to me. His lips gently brushed mine. I wanted to pull him closer to me and deepen the kiss, but he leaned back and quickly walked away.
I opened the door and walked in to find my mom pacing. When she saw me, her face looked worried. She walked over to me and pulled me over to the couch.
"Alexis, I have to tell you something. You need to pay very close attention to what I say. You might hate me for keeping this from you but it's for your own safety." My mom was staring at her hands nervously.
"Mom wha-." I was interrupted by a loud noise.
"They're here. Come on we don't have much time." My mom grabbed my arm and pulled me up off the couch." I'm sorry ill tell you everything later, but now you have to hide." She continued. "Stay quiet and if you hear anything don't move." She shoved me into the closet, and slammed the door shut in my face.
It was pitch black, I could not make out anything that was in the closet. I slumped down on the floor, and pulled my knees up to my chest. I wonder what's going on, and what was so important that she had to tell me.
I could hear my mother's feet hit the floor; she was running around the house. I heard another loud crash, as if something was shattered.
My mother stopped in front of the closet and whispered to herself "How could they break past Logan's shield?"
My head snapped up sat the familiar name. Was this Logan that my mom was talking about the same guy that was our new teacher? I heard more people running in our house.
"Demons!" my mom said as she hurried away from the closet.
Demons! First Eric is a vampire hunter and then the four hot guys I was hanging out with are vampires, then some guy that my mom was talking to in a dream has magic, and now demons!
"Where's the girl?" a dark voice asked loudly.
My mother's voice was firm, but I could still tell she was terrified. "Not here."
"That's a lie because her smell is everywhere."
"Yes it is and that is because she used to live here...."
"Where is she now then?"
"I will never tell you!" my mom's voice becoming fierce all of a sudden.
"Well that's such a shame because you will have to die." My eyes widened in fear.
I heard a quick movement and then someone started to scream. It wasn't my mom though. Right after the screaming started it stopped.
Maybe my mom killed them. I spoke to soon, my mom began to scream now. I couldn't take it any long. I stood up and reached for the door knob. It was locked.
I started to kick at the door franticly; I had to help my mom. I pulled my leg back one last time and with all my strength flung it towards the door. Bang! The kick sent vibrations threw my whole leg, but it got the door down.
I dashed past the living room and to the front door. What I saw scared me there at my feet was my mom; her eyes were closed, was barely breathing, and blood was everywhere. Also there were two other bodies lying on the floor. I bent down to my mom, on the verge of tears, and lifted her head up in my lap. She opened her eyes at my touch.
"Mom?" I stuttered.
She tried to speck but only coughed up blood. She was finally able to catch her breath, "Run, before they find you."
"Mom who?"
She smiled up at me. Her eyes started to slowly close shut.
"No mom, stay with me. You can't die." I was now crying. She closed her eyes completely, and her head fell back it was already too late, she was gone. I didn't want to, but I had to listen to her last words of advice.....run. I got up and looked around my house for probably the last time.
