I sat down beside Shay after Mills had served us dinner. "You talk to Dawson?" She asked looking over. "Yeah I did. Is it alright if I stop by after I shift. I told her I'd come see her." "Yeah that's fine." "Does Kelly know about the baby?" "No, Dawson didn't want me to say anything to him." "Okay, thanks." I finished my bowl and got up and rinsed it before going and changing back into my normal clothes. I grabbed the paperwork from my office and walked down the corridor past Shay. "I'll see you back home?" She asked. "Yeah. See you soon." I put my bag in my car and then drove down to Main Street. I stopped and grabbed a bunch of flowers, and Gabbys favourite donuts from the little cafe she always goes to. Once I had everything I wanted I drove to Shay and Kelly's. They were already home, and the lights were on inside. I walked up steps and knocked on the door, and Shay answered. "She's upstairs." "Thanks." I quietly walked up the stairs. The door to Gabbys room was open slightly and poked my head in. The TV was on but she was laying against the pillows fast asleep. I quietly walked in, and laid the bouquet on the dresser with the donuts and picked the tissues up off the ground and threw them in the bin. I hung up all her clothes and put them back in the wardrobe. I grabbed the vase off the dresser and went in the bathroom and filled it with water. I walked back into her room and placed the flowers into it before putting it on the bedside table beside her and placed the donuts next to it and then took off my shoes before laying down beside her. I wrapped my arms around her and she stirred slightly, rolling her body into mine and resting her head against my chest. "I love you so much you know that don't you?" I whispered to her as she slowly woke up and opened her eyes. "How long have you been here for?" She asked rubbing her eyes. "Only about 10 minutes." I kissed her head, "how are you feeling?" "Better thanks," she smiled. "Can you stomach your favourite donuts I bought you?" She smiled and laughed with a slight nod. I reached over and grabbed the box from the bedside table. I opened it and handed her the chocolate one. "Go halves with me? I can't eat a whole one." I nodded and she took a bite before handing it to me to have some. I placed the box back on the bedside table and took a bite of the donut. "I understand why you are in love with these," I smiled as she took another bite. "Shay and Kelly home yet?" I nodded. "How was shift." It was alright, I couldn't stop thinking about you and our baby." She smiled as she leant against me. "I'm due the 6th of Feb." "Wow," I smiled, "we are going to have a little baby." She smiled back at me. "I love you Matt." "I love you too, don't forget that." "I won't," she smiled.
