Gabby
"You be careful standing on that step ladder." Matt said to me as I painted the blue wall in our bedroom. "I will, don't worry." I smiled reassuring him. He turned back to the white wall he was painting and continued. "When is all the new furniture coming again?" "Three days. We should have this place painted by then." I nodded and turned back to the wall. "I'm done," I said stepping back. "Looks amazing babe." Matt smiled wrapping his arms around me from behind. "What room do you want to do next?" "Well we've done all of downstairs, so why don't you do the corridor and I'll do the guest bedrooms?" "Sure. But only do one guest room." "Why not both?" "Because you are definitely not sleeping in a room that has been freshly painted. The smell is no good for our bubba." I laughed and nodded, "alright fine."
I walked into the guest room and rested a hand on my stomach. I was feeling really funny, I don't know I just felt irritated. I started to hum as I grabbed the grey tin of paint and tipped it into the tray before grabbing the roller. Just as I bent down to dip it in the tray I stopped and gasped.

Gabby stopped humming and everything went quiet. I couldn't even hear the roller on the wall. "Gabs you okay?" I called out. "Gabs?" "Matt come here." She replied. I put down my brush and walked into the guest room. "What is it? Are you okay?" "Give me your hand." I held out my hand and she took it, before pressing it to her stomach. I sat there for a few minutes wondering what she was doing until I felt movement. "Was that?" Gabby nodded. I rested my other hand on the other side of her stomach and felt the baby move again. "That is amazing," I smiled standing up to kiss her. "I know." She smiled and rested both her hands against her stomach, "that's out little baby." "Do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?" I asked her. "A girl." I smiled at the thought of our baby girl, a spitting image of Gabby. "We should get pack to painting," she said bending over and picking up the roller. I smiled as she returned to changing the colour of the walls. I loved this house. It was like the dream house I'd always imagined owning with Gabby. When you first walked in the kitchen was to your left, followed by the dinning room, and then the living room. They were all kind of connected. My man cave was out the back behind the garage. Then as you went up the stairs you walked into a corridor. The bathroom was the first door on the right, and opposite that was the guest room. The second door on the right was the second guest room, and then the third was going to be the nursery. The second door on the left was our bedroom. It had a balcony looking over the backyard, and a walk in robe and ensuite. I knew the master bedroom was the room that gabby fell in love with first. That was half the reason she wanted to buy this house. I was just glad that there was a pool, a backyard, and I had my man cave. "I'm done," Gabby said walking out of the guest room. I finished the last wall in the corridor and then out the roller down. "Hungry?" I asked. She nodded furiously and rested her hand on her stomach. "Alright let's go find some takeout."
