Something Good

September 13 2016 

I wake up and go to class. I sit by myself today because I show up late. 

Class is taking forever today! I just want to go to my room and tell Harry and Raven about Laura's cancer. I texted them both last night before I went to bed saying to be there so I can talk to them. 

After what seems like hours and hours of class it's finally over. I leave to my room. When I get there I realize I didn't wait for Raven to walk to our room together. I text her saying sorry and that I'm already at our room.  

I get out my computer while waiting for Raven, it only takes her fifteen minutes to get here, but we still have to wait for Harry. He texted me at 4:30 saying he is on him way.  

I look up more information on ovarian cancer.  

I find out that ovarian cancer is the most serious of all gynecological cancers. (Don’t know what that is.) Over 2600 Canadian women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. Every year 1750 women die to this type of cancer. When found early - and treated - ovarian cancer survival rate is 90%. 

Lets just hope Laura isn't apart of the 10% that doesn't survive. 

Harry finally shows up. Raven let's him in. 

"Hey what's up?" He asks. 

"I don't Victoria was waiting till you got here to tell us." Raven tells Harry. 

They both look at me I stand up and tell them to take a seat. 

"Umm I have to tell you guys’ something, obviously that's why you're here. But um Laura told me yesterday and I told her I would tell her to make it less painful on herself." I start saying. They both are looking at me really worried. "Laura wasn't feeling well for a while and she went to the doctor’s yesterday morning and she found out last night around supper she has ovarian cancer. She hopefully is going to be fine she is going to do tests and have sugary or something to get rid of it. Make sure not to take about it around her unless she mentions it, when I was talking on the phone with her she was really sad." I tell them. They both look shocked like I was when Laura told me herself. 

After a couple minutes of silence I decide to say something. "You guys understand?" I ask they don't answer. "Shake head for no and nod for yes." I say. They both nod. 

After a bit longer Harry says something. "So she is going to be okay?" 

I nod my head yes. "Like I told Laura, she is strong and going to get through this she just needs support from her family and friends. She will be back to good health in not time!" I assure them. "Just make sure not to tell anyone." 

Harry stays a little longer and I tell him and Raven what I knew about it from the time I had to look up information about it. Once he wasn't in as bad as shock he was good and went to the boys’ home. 

A couple of minutes after Harry leaves I get a phone call, just from the ringtone I know its Louis. I don't know if Laura wants him to know so I won't say anything just in case. 

"Hello." I say answering the phone. 

"Hey how are you?" He asks. 

"I'm good, how about you." I ask him back. 

"I'm great! Yesterday when you were with Alex, Morgan, and Mackenzie, I was at an addition for a new TV series. I got the part." He tells me. 

"That's great, good job." I say not really sounding that happy still from just talking about Laura's cancer. 

"You sure you’re okay? You don't seem that happy." He says to me. 

"I'm fine Louis I am really glad you got the role. I'm just tired, didn't get a lot of sleep last night." I tell him trying to sound as happy as I can. Me being tired isn't a lie, I couldn't get to sleep last night. I wish I could go see Laura and see how she is really doing. She does have Chloe but it would be nice to go. I don't have class tomorrow or anything I could go. But if I do I would probably fall asleep on the road. 

While I was thinking Louis must if said something because he is saying my name. "Sorry I kind of fell asleep on the line I think I'm going to have a nap. Talk to you later!" I say then hang up. 

I am really glad he got the role and something good has happened in this bad time, I guess I could have been happier but I can be happy for him later. I'll most likely see him tomorrow anyway.  

Raven and I don't eat anything big for supper tonight we both make ourselves something small then I go to bed the same time a Raven did and fell asleep fast.
