I woke up the next morning and turned on my phone. When it loaded, I noticed the time was 11am. I put my phone down and stretched in my bed. I swung my legs over the side and got up. I walked into the lounge room where I heard a soft rift of a guitar playing.

“Morning sleepy head” Marcus said to me when he looked up from his guitar.

“Hey. How was your gig last night?” I asked him.

“Yea it was good. I’m a bit tired but it was awesome. Bit of extra cash in the pocket” he said with a wink. “So, how was your night?” he said with a waggle of his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes at him.

“Shut up I already told you nothing happened idiot!” I laughed him off.

“Well you obviously have something to tell me going from your text message” he said with a smug smile.

“Alright alright I’ll tell ya what happened. Let me go and have a shower then we can go for lunch and I’ll tell you the story alright?” I asked.

“Yep! Ok sounds good. I’ve got to go to a rehearsal this arvo for a while. I’d ask you to come but I’m guessing that you might wanna just relax here for a while? You’d be able to meet the mates you were gonna meet last night before you dogged them” he said.

“Normally I would say yes, but you’re right. For once. I just want to relax” I said back.

“No problem. Go and have your shower! I’m hungry!” Marcus said.

“Dude it’s like quarter past eleven. Relax” I said.

“When am I not hungry?” he countered.

“Good point” I said as I walked off towards the bathroom. I stood in the shower letting the steaming water run over my skin. I stood there trying very hard not to think of my conversation with Reece last night. What kind of arrogant jerk was he? I mean really. Ugh I’d only bumped into him twice, one time in the literal sense, and he already angered me to my core. I tried to forget about what happened and focused on the running water. I could tell I had been in there a while because I started to prune. Not an attractive look I might add. I got out of the shower and headed to my room in a towel. On the way I ran into Marcus.

“Oh my god! I’m blind!” he yelled whilst over exaggeratingly covered his face with his hands.

“Oh shut up. You’ve seen me more naked than this” I said.

“Hey” he stood up straight and pointed at me, “we said we would never speak of that” he said.

“Alright, calm down” I said with a smile and walked into my room. I got dressed for lunch,http://www.polyvore.com/untitled_29/set?id=52833656 Did my hair and my makeup, grabbed my wallet and phone and went to meet Marcus in the lounge room where I heard the guitar again.

“YO! Ready to go?” I asked. I must have frightened him because he jumped like there was no tomorrow.

“Holy crap Taylor! Don’t do that!” he said as he put down the guitar. “Alright lets go. I know a coffee shop that makes the BEST chicken breast.” I swear he started drooling like Homer Simpson.

“Sounds goooood.” I said as we walked out the door.

We arrived at the coffee shop in about 15 minutes. It was in another direction to where Marcus had already taken me yesterday so he was pointing out all the cool places as we went past. We sat down and a nice middle-aged woman came over to take our orders. Marcus of course got his beloved chicken breast whilst I went for the Spaghetti Bolognese. He told me a bit about the band that he was in. He said that the lead singer was the same age as me, which I found surprising, that he was really good mates with the drummer and sometimes they had some other people in the band like the back-up singers and some other guitarists and stuff. He told me that primarily though, it was he, the drummer and the main dude. I felt bad because I wasn’t paying strict attention so the names slipped me. Our food arrived and because we both hadn’t eaten yet our plates were clean in a matter of minutes. We sat there for a little while patting out tummies like we use to do when we were little and had eaten to many of my mum’s cookies.
