We were in the car sitting in silence. I think he kind of got the whole ‘I’m missing everyone and my best friend’ vibe.

“Hey so you know Reece is going to LA the day after tomorrow right?” Marcus began. I turned my head to look at him.

“Yeah…” I was curious as to where he was going with this.

“Do you have school while he is away?”

“I have UNI for three days a week Marcus. I have the other four off. Why?” I asked. I was so confused.

“Well I was thinking, if the workload isn’t too heavy for you during that time, maybe you can go home for the days you aren’t at ‘uni’ one week?”

“Are you serious?” I was stunned. I think that was the best thing I had heard all day! I would get to see my family and my friends and omg!

“Yes. Do you want to?”

“YES! But wait, how would I pay for it?”

“How about we call it part of your early birthday present?” he said to me. He quickly turned to face me and gave me a wink. The grin on my face was ear to ear.

“Marcus thankyou so fucking much! Holy shit! I can’t wait! Are you staying here or coming with me?”

“I have xfactory stuff I have to do starting this week. So I’ll have to pass. But next time I will. I’ll still take you and pick you up from the airport and all that.”

“I don’t know what to say. Thankyou so much!”

“You’re welcome Tay-Tay” he said with a grin. We pulled into a small parking area of what seemed to be an abandoned building of some sort. It was dark so I was kind of creeped out, so I was glad Marcus was here with me. “This was Taylor!” he said as he led me through a door that was big enough to be a garage and down a hall to ‘Studio 3’. He opened the door slowly and let me in.

I walked in quietly because it seemed that Reece was in his zone. He was facing away from the door sitting on a stool and looking towards Dave who was playing an acoustic guitar. They were singing ‘Timeless’. This song made my heart melt every single time I heard it. I stood there with Marcus because we didn’t want to disrupt him. I was watching the back of him as he arched his back whilst singing the notes as he got more and more into it. I watched him take in his deep breaths and his sharp intakes of air between words as he sang with so much heart and passion. A tear filled my eye as I realized how beautiful he was, both inside and out. The song came to a gentle finish with Dave’s final strum of the guitar. Marcus and I walked up to the stage slowly. I came up behind Reece and put my arms up around his shoulders and crossed them on his chest as I laid my chin on his shoulder.

“Hey” I said and kissed his cheek.

“Hey, how long have you been here?” he asked me suddenly feeling self-conscious.

“Long enough for you to make me cry because of that song! Nice playing Dave” I said as I looked up at him. He grinned and said ‘thanks’ before getting up and moving to his drums. I assumed there was something a bit rockier about to be played. “I’m going to go sit on the lounge” I said and gave him another quick kiss on the cheek. I got off the stage and moved over to sit down on the lounge. He got off the stool and turned to face me. He gave me a quick wink before turning to say something to Marcus and Dave. He turned back my way with a smile on his face. Oh god what was he doing.

Marcus started playing his electric guitar for a few strums before the lyrics started.

God damn here we go again, banging on my door about 2am
