Part 6. On patrol

Linken had left the academy a few hour's earlier. Headed to consult with the council about the new developments with Akria and Redemption.

  Redemption and I, were flying high above the nearest border of Haiden's land. With Seth on my right and Gina and Drake on my left we had made really good time.

Over the large tree's and saplings we flew seeing wildlife and new vegetation starting to grow over the once ravaged land. This made Ree and I, happy seeing the land's trying to become whole again. It felt good to us both to see changes of this magnitude starting to happen, it was breath taking.

Seth was scanning the skies both left and right looking for any type of danger..

I felt pride knowing we all had fought to the take this land back from Haiden's rule. Ree and I had lead other's into battle some of them that had took place on the whole of this land.

I was pleased with the result's but saddened by the thought of all the friends we lost. We all knew the risk going in, but that doesn't lessen the pain, when it's all said and done. I thought. They went into battle gladly Akria, that's what warrior's do. Ree said trying to console me. They would much rather die fighting for what they believe in than anything else. You and I both know that I'm telling the truth. I know Ree, it still doesn't make or any easier for those of us left behind though. They would want you to remember they went out for the right reason's Akria.

I thought about Ree's words and realized he was right. Then I started thinking about the time when Seth, had lead a rescue party all the way to Haiden's domain. To get me back after Olivia, kidnapped me by deceit since I was blind she used that to her advantage. Redemption, was right there with them when they came for me. I was blinded by Haiden, in a fight. And I trusted the girl to take me back to the academy. Instead she took me to Haiden, for some reason Olivia, despised me. But in the end I, was saved by the people who cared about me.

I was thinking about Cain and Will as I  soared on my dragon's back. "Do you think Cain will ever forgive me,?"  I thought to him. "Eventually he will kiddo. I believe he is trying to, he has had a rough time, coming to term's with everything he saw after you killed Will. Not to mention seeing him dead."Ree thought. Trying to send comfort through the bond. "The fact that you scared his face is a daily reminder. Akria, I know you were being controlled by that monster of a dragon. And what ever you did during that time, was not your fault. You tried to kill me also, but you didn't, you didn't know what you were doing. Let us try to think of something else." Ree thought to her in a soothing voice.

"Ree what is happening to us?" "I really don't know Akria, it is strange that we can now use one mind together. How does that work Ree? " I don't know Akria, it just happen's. "

"We are having a conversation right now through thought Ree. But earlier we were speaking through each other? We were one, we merged. "

"I know kiddo. And the closer this get's the closer we are. It's like any other ability we gain, it takes time to understand how to control it." "Seth want's you." She looked to her right and saw Seth staring at her intently.

"Akria, are you ready to turn back?" Seth asked her with a grin. Smiling at him, she decided that would be a good idea. "Yeah that sound's good to me." I told him. "Let's head back Ree."

"Akria." Ree, said in a serious tone of voice. " Do you see that ?" Turning around I saw what he was concerned about. " What in the land's is that Ree?" "Night Watcher's." I, think but not like any iv'e ever seen." I joined with Redemption's sight.

My blood ran cold, dread was pooling in my body. What I saw made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, it was Night watcher's alright. They were unlike any I, had seen before. These particular one's sent a feeling of unrest throughout my entire being.
