Lily -
The guard held my arm tightly, pulling me along with him through the thick woods.
He said he was going to take me to "Alpha Styles". I'd never heard of him, but already in my head I am imagining how terrible things are going to go down with him. A female rogue caught trespassing? Not good.
"Come on!" The guard growls when I trip over a branch. I quickly fix myself and quicken my pace to match that of the guard who's grip on my arm has tightened even more.
We walk for what feels like forever and the sun starts to come up, turning the dark woods into a foggy dim-lit beauty. But sadly, there's no time to enjoy the beautiful scenery as the guard continues to pull me behind him.
We begin to approach a clearing and my wolf immediately becomes restless. I feel tense, even more so than before, and wonder why I'm suddenly feeling like this. Does my wolf sense danger? Is she trying to tell me to try and escape?
We reach the clearing and my eyes widen when I see the house sitting at the edge of the clearing, nestling against the woods. It's not huge, but it's a large house. And there's something in the air here that's-
"Mate! Mate! Mate!" My wolf chants over and over, and I feel my heart rate speed up faster than ever before.
Much to my horror, the front door of the house opens and someone steps out into the large porch. But he's not just anyone, he's my-
"Mate! Mate!" She keeps chanting.
No, this can't be happening. The Alpha who rejected me, is now standing in front of me.
This would be easier to accept that he's rejected me if he didn't look so amazing. He's so tall, and lean, and muscular that I want to just turn away. I can't stand for this man to reject me again. His eyes are still a shining forest green, as they had been when I'd seen him in wolf form. His hair is longer than I'd imagined it would be, but it curls just right and it looks so utterly perfect for him. His arms are littered with tattoos, and I can't seem to take my eyes of the designs.
"Alpha, I found this rogue on the edge of the territory. What should I do with her?" The guard who's still holding my arm, asks the magnificent looking man who's standing in front of me.
My mate looks over at me briefly before signing and running his hands through his hair. "Just...let her arm go for one thing." His deep, perfect voice tells the guard and though the guard looks confused for a moment, he does release my arm.
"Should I take her to the prison or-"
"No!" The guard is immediately shut up by my mate shouting at him.
"Take her and and...actually, just...let her go." He talks slowly, and unsure. He's the Alpha, why is he so nervous? He's rejected me, why is he struggling to find out what to do with me?
"Let her go?" The poor confused guard asks.
"Yes. If she wants to pass through my territory, she can. Just tell the others to let her go through." What?
I feel tears well up in my eyes. I know I should be used to being rejected by him, but this hurts so much. Being face to face with him, and him looking at me, and practically telling me to leave.
"Yes, Alpha." The guard clears his throat awkwardly when he sees my mate and I staring at each other as if no other person is around.
Suddenly a little boy who looks about three runs out of the house and onto the porch. Pausing when he sees me, and then looking up at my mate, who quickly bends down to pick the little boy up.
