Harry -

"This pack has a Luna."

The entire room falls silent and everyone stares at me. Eyes wide, mouths open, a couple gasps were heard.

"Alpha, what are you talking about?" A younger member of the counsel asks. Well, I say younger only because most of the counsel members are like, really old. This guy is probably 30.

I take a deep breathe and prepare myself to say this all out loud. To the people who don't believe I am capable of taking good care of my own pack. To the people who always tell me my father was such a better Alpha than I am.

"I've found my mate."

The counsel members start to talk among themselves, turning to face each other and say things quietly and quickly so I won't hear what they're saying to one another.

I just sit here, waiting for what they're going to say.

"Quit stressing." Louis whispers from his seat on my left and I growl quietly at him. It's impossible not to stress right now.

The counsel members all seem to settle down, the whispers ceasing and all eyes travel back to me.

"Is this why Shiloh was kicked out of the pack?"

"No." It's kind true, but everyone continues to stare at me like they know the truth. Louis slightly nudging me under the table, forces me to say the whole truth.

"Okay, partially. But not for the reasons that you're-" thinking, was what I was going to say.

"So, this is what? Number three?" An elder scoffs and in that moment I wished I had listened to myself and just stayed home and avoided another dumbass meeting.

"Shiloh was kicked out because I believed she was a danger to my mate." I growl. No one seems to be listening, though.

"You've brought girls into the packhouse before, Alpha."

"Hell, you've got a son by one of them!"

"You're sure you've really found your mate?"

"Is she the kind of girl that's capable of being this pack's Luna?"

It seems like everyone suddenly decided it was time for questions and I could barely make out one from the other.

"Hey! You're speaking to your Alpha, show some respect!" Louis jumps up from his seat and stood up while telling everyone else in the room off. He sat back down, anger clearly in his eyes.

"When will we meet this Luna?" An older man asked, though he sounded almost sarcastic.

"Soon. Now if you don't mind, I'm leaving." I stormed out of the meeting room, leaving everyone probably angry. And that probably included Louis as well.

********

I had run from the meeting building and into the woods, shifting into wolf form.

I couldn't sit at that table, listening to what everyone had to say about Lily. About how I'm running the pack. And about me.

I knew there would be trouble when I brought Lily home without telling anyone that she was my mate and their Luna. The pack was left to assume that Lily was just like Katy. Just a girl I loved and brought home.

I also knew there would be trouble when I kicked Shiloh out of the pack without telling anyone the reason why.

Not to mention the attack by the HalfMoon pack, and the burning of the supply house. It's all trouble.

I ran out my anger, running through the woods until I found myself in the woods behind the packhouse. I stopped and watched the house. Watching as lights would turn on in the rooms, the light beaming from the windows. The silhouette walking around the lit room, then the light would blacken away, and another light in another room would turn on. I watched mine and Lily's bedroom light turn on and soon, her elegant silhouette walked past the window.

My wolf whined and I didn't hold him back as a sad whine filled the otherwise quiet night air.

I wanted Lily.

Something moving by the house snapped me from my thoughts of Lily and I was sent into full alert.

I crouched down, slowly making my way towards the moving shadow. Watching it closely as it moved closer then farther from the house. Walking, then jumping, then slowing down and crawling along the ground, very similar to what I'm doing right now.

It was small, quick, and silent as it moved. I crept closer and closer until the creature must have sensed me moving, and ran towards the house.

I leapt into the clearing and raced towards the small creature until it let out a scream.

I froze, quickly shifting back to human form when I recognized that frightened scream.

Dylan.

"Hey, it's me!" I shouted just as he reached the back door steps and looked over at me. His face was pale with fear and his eyes wide. His legs shaking, and his hands trembling.

I hurried over to him and wrapped him up in my arms, keeping him pressed tightly against me.

"You're okay. You're safe." I repeated over and over until he broke down crying.

"Hey, shh. In sorry I scared you, buddy. I'm sorry." Lily bursts outside, the back door slamming against the siding of the house and terror in her eyes until she sees me holding Dylan.

"I heard him scream and I-" she starts but shuts up when Dylan sniffles and turns his head to see her.

"I'm okay, Lily." He says before hiccuping.

"I was sitting in the woods and didn't know it was him." I try to mind-link her, but mentally slap myself when she gives me a confused face. We're not fully mated and bonded, she can't fully understand my mind-links!

"What were you doing outside anyway?" Lily asks the little boy in my arms and the same question goes for me.

He's not supposed to be outside at night unless I'm with him.

"I was playing wolf." He says quietly, grabbing at my hand with the cross tattoo and running his little fingers over it repeatedly.

"Well, don't ever come outside once it's dark unless I'm with you. Okay, buddy?" I immediately regret calling him that nickname when he looks up at me and tries his best to look angry, though it's more cute than anything.

"Daddy, my name not Buddy! Why can't you 'member that?"
