Chapter 15: A Friendly Welcome

Harry -

Louis and I have been waiting for the pack HalfMoon pack members to arrive, but they were due to be here quite a while ago.

"Maybe they just decided to go home?" Louis speaks up, getting out of his chair in the living room and walking into the kitchen.

"Dax would have called. And anyway-" I pause when I sense panic. Someone nearby is afraid. Very afraid.

"Harry! Something's wrong. Eleanor! Something's happened, I can sense it!" Louis shouts as he runs or the door and I follow behind, both of us shifting once we're outside of the house.

"Daddy?" I force myself to stop running and turn to see Dylan standing in the front doorway. I can't leave him here alone. But even I can sense that something has gone terribly wrong.

I whine at the sight of Louis getting farther and farther away and me being stuck here unable to help him with whatever the problem is. Wherever it is.

"Can I jump on your back and ride? Like when we went running in the woods?" Dylan asks as he wobbles down the steps on the porch until he reaches the ground and I walk up to him and he runs his little hands over my fur.

"I wanna be a wolf." He pouts and I lick his face causing him to giggle.

"Daddy! Tickles!"

Louis -

I continued to run until I heard Eleanor yelp in the distance and my wolf pushed me to run faster then ever before. My mate is in danger.

I suddenly found myself tackling a large black wolf, and killing him faster then I knew possible. I jumped off the dead body and found Eleanor laying nearby.

"What's happened?!" I ask her through our mind-link.

"I'm okay, Louis! They took Lily! You need to get Harry and go find Lily!" She shouts back through the mind-link.

They've taken Lily?

"Can you walk?" I ask, through the link.

"Yes! But we have to go tell Harry!" She says as she shakily stands. But there would be no need to run anywhere and tell Harry. I threw my head back and let out a howl, that called the trackers and warriors, and Harry.

Harry -

I was waiting. Waiting for Louis to come back. Hoping he would tell me that everything was actually alright. But something was telling me that it wasn't.

My wolf was terribly restless and worried. Making me even more so.

Suddenly, through the quiet woodland sounds, came a loud clear howl calling for trackers and warriors. The HalfMoon pack had attacked, and taken one of our own pack members, attacked one, and killed several as they escaped out of the territory.

Lily had been taken. I just knew it.

I sprinted out of the yard, watching Dylan as he watched me run off. I stopped myself once again, and felt myself torn. I couldn't leave Dylan, but I had to save Lily.

I ran back to Dylan and pushed him into my back before taking off, with him holding on tightly.

"Daddy, too fast!" He shouted, but I couldn't stop. I had to find Lily.

I could feel Dylan beginning to slip off, and I slowed down for him to get a better grip of my fur before taking off again.

I didn't even wait for warriors or guards to come with me before I ran out of my territory, following the trail of the HalfMoon pack ad Lily's scent.
