Harry -

"Would you please focus?" Louis shouted over the sounds of the punches hitting the punch bag.

I put my hands down and let out a loud sigh. Wiping the sweat away from my eyes, I walk towards louis as he walks towards me.

"Once again, Alpha, you're mind is not on your training. Where is it today?" He smirks as I attempt to take of the boxing gloves.

"Lily." I mumble, hoping he doesn't hear me.

"I thought so. I noticed your not in rut anymore." He smirked even bigger.

"Oh, shut up and get these things off my hands." I snapped my hands in front of his face so fast that he ducked to avoid getting hit by a punch that was never coming.

Louis stood back up and chuckled as he took the gloves off my hands. Finally free from them, I stretched my fingers and popped my knuckles, hearing the loud cracking sounds fill the gym.

"Harry, don't do that! It makes my skin crawl." Louis whined, flinching when I pop them again just to get on his nerves.

"Ugh! Why are you so immature?" He shouts as he walks towards the exit, me following closely behind.

"Hey, do you know where Lily might have gotten suppressants?" I ask, as we leave the gym, which is technically an outbuilding a couple miles away from the house that I had fixed up into a gym for my own personal use.

"Yeah. El have them to her." Louis answers.

"Oh."

"Why? Did you not want Lily to take them?" He asks, us now walking side by side.

"No, it's not that. It's just...I don't know. She wasn't in heat and it made me feel weird. But if she hadn't taken them, then last night would have-"

"Led to pups?"

"Yeah." I truthfully answer.

"Surely you don't think that would have been a bad thing?" Louis asks, though his words sound almost accusing.

"That's where I get stuck. I do want to fully mate Lily, and I'd love for us to have pups together. But...I can't see myself being able to do that. Because what about...you know."

"Katy?" Louis says in a sigh.

"Yeah."

Louis stops walking, and I tune back to face him. He shakes his head and looks up at the sky, I assume to think before I speaking up again.

"I know what you went through with Katy, Harry. It was horrible, and it was-"

"I don't need you to tell me what it was like." I growl.

"Listen to me. It was terrible, and I know what you deal with everyday because of that. Every time you look at Dylan you see her and you relive that day. I know that. But you can't blame yourself for that everyday of your life. And you're not only hurting yourself. You're hurting Lily too." And with his great "words of wisdom", my Beta walks past me. Our shoulders bumping into each other's, but louis continues walking away not caring that he's just shown no respect for his Alpha by continuing to walk away.

Lily -

"I hope he wasn't too rough on you." Eleanor says as she grabs out the eggs from the fridge.

"I'm really fine, Eleanor. But please quit talking about...that last night." I ask, feeling my face redden.

"Well, it's only natural, Lily. When louis had his first rut once we found out we were mates, I just knew i'd never walk again. I wanted to just lay in bed, and never have to sit or stand again. It was anything but pleasant, but we were marked, mated and bonded. And that alone made it all worth it." A happy smile spread across Eleanor's face, as she talked about her and Louis. And I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.

Eleanor never had to wonder about if her mate would throw her out one day because he didn't think she was good enough for him. She didn't have to question their relationship, like I do mine and Harry's.

"You remembering last night or something?" Eleanor's voice pulls me from my thoughts and I hurry to help her finish making breakfast.

"Louis and Harry should be back pretty soon. Louis mind-linked a little while ago saying Harry was finished with his training. He also said that Harry seemed a little distracted." She nudged me with he elbow and I felt my face redden again.

"What does Harry train for?" I ask.

"Just fighting, I think. Ever since Katy died, it's always been his main focus. Besides running the pack and taking care of little Dylan, of course. He trains more often than anyone I've ever seen. One day I went out and-"

"Who's Katy?" I interrupt, which I know is rude but my curiosity gets the better of me.

"Dylan's mom. Has...has Harry not told you about her?" I shake my head.

"Oh...well, it's not for me to tell. It's something he needs to tell you." And she goes back to her work scrambling the eggs.

"Did he love her?" I ask, afraid of the answer already. But hoping...

"Lily, it's not for me to say."

"I smell food!" Louis's high voice rings through the packhouse. And soon he walks into the kitchen followed by my mate.

"What have you done with your hair?" I ask, with a wide smile. Admiring my mate with his hair all pulled up away from his face. I'd only ever seen him with his hair down.

"It's just in a bun. And don't be like Eleanor and say buns are only for women. 'Cause I'll bite you if you do." He playfully warns, and I feel my wolf excite at his words.

"Oh, you want to bite her anyway!" Louis cheers from across the kitchen to where he's wrapped his arms around Eleanor before kissing her.

Wonder why they don't have any pups yet? Eleanor told me that they've been together since they were 18. That's four years gone by and they still haven't started any family. It's rare for wolves to not start their families after being together for short periods of time.

"Daddy! You done trowing bunches?" Dylan excitedly asks, as he runs into the kitchen, wrapping his arms around Harry's leg.

"It's throwing punches, Buddy." Harry carefully pronounces the words for Dylan to learn.

"Daddy, how many times I have to tell you? My name Dylan. You gived me that name, why can't you 'member it?"

This sends the four of us adults into a fit of laughter, which causes Dylan to laugh, also.

As Harry reaches down and lifts Dylan up into his arms, holding the giggling boy upside down until he squeals with laughter, I can't help but wonder about his mother.

Katy. Who was she?

But more importantly to me, did Harry really love her?

There's suddenly another adult in the kitchen and all eyes fall upon the man who's walked in uninvited.

Harry sets Dylan back down on the floor, but doesn't seem alarmed by the presence of the other man. Neither is Louis, which causes me to believe that he's not any kind of threat.

"Jordan, what brings you here at this hour?" Harry asks the man.

"Alpha, the elders have requested that a meeting be held. And they've also requested that...this is on their own words, Alpha, you 'actually show up and stay throughout the meeting'." The man looks nervous at saying the words, shaking slightly. It should scare a man. Insulting an Alpha like that.

Alphas are know for their short tempers, but also for their wisdom in how to lead.

Harry rolls his eyes and sighs.

"Fine. Just not today. Tell them to schedule it and I'll be there." The other man leaves without another word.

"Well, I guess I'm going to have to endure a meeting. Again." He huffs and walks over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Mm, maybe I'll just send you instead." He murmurs against my skin when he presses his face against my neck, his lips brushing over where my mate mark would be.

"He does want to bite her!" Louis shouts from behind me. My turn to roll my eyes. Pretending not to care.

But I do want Harry to mark me and make me his forever.
