"The female rogue, Alpha. She's escaped out of the territory."

My wolf became alarmed the moment those words hit me.

I jumped up from my seat at the table, not caring that my chair flew back against the floor.

"Louis, you get all the border guards looking for her right away. Dax, you go and get four of the best trackers and start searching. I'm going after her." And I ran out of the room, leaving many confused wolves behind, who were expecting this meeting to continue. Well, who needs a dumb old meeting anyway?

I immediately rush out of the building and into the woods before shifting and allowing my wolf to take over. I have to find Lily. And the sooner the better.

Lily -

I forcefully pulled away from the briar bush that had gotten stuck into my fur as I tried to simply run past it.

Finally, free from the sticky and painful bush, I continued to run as fast as my paws would carry me. I don't know where I'm headed, all I know is that I'm going away.

I loose my stepping and slip down a hill, landing in a huge puddle of water, which is quick to turn into filthy mud as I squirm around trying to get out of it.

Free from that, I slow down my running and decide that maybe taking a walk would be safer. I'm a good distance away from my mate's pack. And it's not like anyone from there would even come looking for me anyway.

After a full hour of walking, my paws ache, my legs ache, I'm tired, and I'm sore from falling and tripping, and getting caught in briar bushes. God only knows how awful I must look right now. Even in my wolf form.

A twig snapping brings my wolf back to full alert and I search the surrounding woods carefully. It's gotten quite dark now and I'm glad I'm in wolf form, so I can partially see in this darkness.

I don't see anything, but the air soon fills with the scent of many wolves. Males. Rogues.

My wolf pushes me to run and I take off into the unknown darkness. But the past few hits have running have taken their toll on me and I can't force myself much further. My legs can't support my running anymore and I fall onto the leaf-covered ground. The scents of the rogues get stronger, and I fight to even stand to run, only to fall back down. I'm too exhausted.

Panic floods my brain when several rogues step out from the shadows, growling and slinking towards me. And all I can do is lay here and whimper pitifully.

Harry -

I've been running for hours, and I feel the ache in my bones for not stopping and resting any. But I still haven't found Lily and I won't rest until I know she's safe.

I may not allow myself to love her, but I won't let her get hurt in any way.

As I follow the trail of her scent, she'd gone deeper and deeper into more and more dangerous territory. Far from my own land. But why had she run off?

Suddenly my wolf began to push me harder and I felt him getting increasingly angry.

Fear. I could sense something in Lily's scent. And it was fear. And it was getting stronger and stronger.

I pushed myself to run even faster, and then I caught the disgusting scent of rogues. Many male rogues.

And Lily was afraid of them. I could make that much out of the many messages I was collecting as I ran.

Anger coursed through my body at the thought of anyone, especially a rogue getting near Lily. My mate.

Suddenly I was jumping onto a grey wolf and tearing him apart as quickly as I could manage to after all the tiring running.

I stepped away from the bloody wolf corpse and growled loudly as I saw several other rogues standing there, watching me.

But the moment I saw Lily, laying there on the ground, whimpering, I snapped.

I ran over to her and stood over her and growled at the other wolves as they slowly began backing away.

But one rogue stood his ground. He was the largest of the rogues and didn't back down. I'm assuming he's the leader of these shameful wolves.

I would have lunged after him and killed him then and there, but Lily was laying under me, whimpering. And I wasn't going to leave her for one second.

Slowly, the wolves all turned and left, disappearing back into the woods. Leaving me and my mate alone.

I stepped away from her, making sure she hadn't been hurt by those poor excuses of animals.

Her fur was filthy, caked with mud and leaves, and knotted up. Her paws were bleeding, her breathing heavy. But she hadn't been attacked.

She opened her blue eyes and stared at me. I couldn't mind-link her like I wanted to, so I had to use physical to show her that she was safe and okay. I nuzzled up against her face and licked her. Which earned a playful whine from her before she carefully pulled away.

She tried to stand, but then fell down again. I began to panic about if she'd really hurt herself, but the exhaustion in her face made it clear that she's just run herself out.

So, when she tried to stand again, I pushed her back down, gently, with my paw.

I crawled around her, pulling her closely until I was laying with her tucked closely beside me. And my tail wrapping around her, protectively. She fell asleep within seconds.

I stayed awake. Listening for the rogues to return. Hoping that they wouldn't, so Lily would be able to sleep peacefully, and when the morning would come, I would bring her back home with me.
