Chapter 6 - The sign

Tenma's P.O.V.

It's already 5:30 in the afternoon and everyone else already went home. It's just me and Yuuichi-san in Tsurugi's hospital room but he'll be leaving soon because he still needs rest so his legs can heal. *sigh* I miss him, I hope you wake up later or tomorrow. "Tenma, I need to go. The doctor still needs to check on my legs and I need to rest" Yuuichi said to me, I just nodded at him. "I really hope I can stay" he said again, I looked at him and smiled. "Yuuichi-san, you need to rest. You don't know, maybe when Tsurugi wakes up he'll see you walking again and that'll make him super happy" I said as I widened my smile. He just smiled back at me and nodded.

Yuuichi was assisted outside by his personal nurse, now I'm all alone inside Tsurugi's hospital room. It's quiet and all I can hear are the machines functioning and Tsurugi's heavy breathing, nothing more and nothing less.

'What if I stay here for the night? So I can look after Tsurugi? Yeah! That's a great idea!' I grabbed my phone and started to call Aki-san. "Hello, Aki speaking" She answered on the other line. "Hello, Aki-san. It's Tenma. I just want to ask permission if I can stay here in the hospital for the night?" I asked her, "Why sure, Tenma-kun but do you have the things you're going to need for the night?" she said. "Hai, Aki-san" I answered back. "Well, good. Stay safe there Tenma, I'll just pick you up tomorrow. Do you want me to tell the others?"

"No thank you, Aki-san and arigato." I answered her. "Ok, bye" she said. "Bye" then she hung up. *sigh*

Tsurugi's P.O.V.

'W-What happened to me?' I thought to myself while I walk in the darkness. I can't see anything and all I can remember is I was sent flying by the captain of Phantom 11 then I was knocked out. Wait! Don't tell me I'm dead?! *breaths in and out* Calm down, Tsurugi. You can't die yet! I still haven't confessed to Tenma! Oh no, Tenma! Sh**! Is he alive?! Is he okay?! I'm getting really worried about him! Am I sleeping? Well, if I am I need to wake up. "Tsurugi......." I heard a soft, gentle voice. "Who's there?!" I shouted. "*sigh* Tsurugi, I hope you wake up soon." Wait, that voice.......... It's Tenma! "Tenma!! I'm here! I'm awake------" Wait, 'wake up soon'? What does that mean? "Y-You're really making me h-hopeless......." Is he.......... Cying? Tenma' crying? "Tenma!!!!" I tried to call him but I don't think he can hear me. Tsk. What am I going to do now? "You know what Tsurugi? Everyone did well at practice earlier and Kariya just got karate-chopped by Kirino-sempai again"I heard him say everything they did earlier. Geez, how long am I sleeping? A year or two?

Then I heard Tenma crying again. Tenma, why are you even crying? I'm not dead, am i? "T-Tsurugi, i'ts already been 6 months but since you've been in a coma and you still haven't shown us any sign that you'll ever wake up" then I heard his cry even louder. 6 months? I'm in a coma?! That's why I'm here. You want a sign? Tenma, I'm here and I'm alive, I really need to wake up. I'm letting him feel that his all alone. "Tenma!!!!!!!!!!" I shouted as loud as I could.

Tenma's P.O.V.

I'm already crying so hard while holding Tsurugi's hand, I just miss him so much. ".............T-Tenma.........." My crying quickly stopped when I heard someone spoke. I looked at Tsurugi but he was still unconscious though but...... "T-Tenma............" Is he dreaming? Is he giving me a sign that he'll wake up soon? Is this a sign? I hope so. I held his hand a little tighter and whispered to him, "I'm here, Tsurugi. I'm not going to leave you"

Tsurugi's P.O.V.

"I'm here, Tsurugi. I'm not going to leave you" I heard Tenma whisper to me. "Tenma, I'm not going to leave you too" I answered back but I know he can't hear me. My tears were threatening to fall, I miss him. I just want to wake up and tell him what I feel and just hug him! "Tenma!!!!!!!!!!!" I shouted as I let all my tears fall.

Tenma's P.O.V.

I can see tears flowing from the Tsurugi's eyes. Why is he crying? "Tsurugi, stop crying. I'm here" I held his hand leaned on the bed. I'm so sleepy but I need to stay up so if Tsurugi wakes up I can immediately tell the others. But.... I'm so tired and sleepy. I yawned and closed my eyes.

Third Person's P.O.V.

Tenma finally gave in and went to sleep while leaning his head on the side of the bed still holding Tsurugi's hand.
