Chapter 34 - Forgotten Memories (Part 1)

Tenma's P.O.V.

I felt a cold wind touch my face, I can also feel my body is limp. Where am i? And who am i? all I can see is a dark place where I'm in. I slowly closed my eyes and opened them again but when I opened them, I was greeted by a bright, white ceiling that I had to shut my eyes again. I slowly opened them again and let my eyes adjust to the brightness. When it was already adjusted to the light, I slowly look around at my environment. I was laying on a white bed. In my right, I saw a young woman fast asleep in a small couch. 'Who is she?' I thought.

I slowly sat on the bed where I was in and took another look around. I really don't know where I am or who I am. Did something happen to me? Does this woman know why I'm here? I only sighed in depression but I think I woke the woman up. She yawned and rubbed her eyes. I tilted my head to side just looking at her. She looks very familiar to me but I can't quite say who she is. I saw her froze from her seat, it seems like she noticed me. She slowly looked at me and I saw her eyes widened......... But why?

"T-Tenma?" the young woman asked me. I looked confused. 'Tenma? Is that my name?' I thought to myself. She looked at me with worry. "Are you alright? How are you feeling?" she asked me. I don't know what to answer. I really don't know her. "Uhmm, I-I'm fine, I guess?" I answered not sure. "Does something hurt? Tell me, Tenma" she asked again. I have to ask her if she knows who I am and why I'm here. "Excuse me, Mam but............. Do you know why I'm here? And........... Who I am?" I asked her. Her eyes widened at what I said. I felt nervous. "D-Did I say something wrong, Mam?" I asked her nervously. She gulped then sighed. "What do you mean? You don't remember anything?" she asked me, worried plastered in her face.

I grew more confused and nervous. "A-Actually, n-no, Mam...... I-I don't remember anything, w-why?" I stuttered. "Oh" she said then looked down. "Are you alright, Mam?" I asked, my nervousness went away. "I'm fine, Tenma...... I'll just call your doctor" and with that said, the young woman left. 'Doctor? I'm in a hospital?' I thought and grew more and more confused. 'I really have to know what's going on' I thought again.

Third Person's P.O.V.

After a few minutes, Aki came back to Tenma's room with his doctor and Ichinose. Aki called Ichinose as soon as she got out of Tenma's room earlier. When they entered Tenma's room, they saw him looking out the window while sitting in bed. "Tenma?" Ichinose called. Tenma heard him and looked at him. He tilted his head to the side. "Who?" Tenma asked. "See, doctor? He doesn't remember anything! Not even his name!" Aki said to his doctor. The doctor just looked at Tenma and it seems like he's observing him. "Uhmm, you're the lady who was with me earlier, right?" Tenma asked as he looked at Aki. Aki sighed but nodded. "It seems like he can only make new memories. He can't regain what's in the past" the doctor said. "So it's like Amnesia?" Ichinose asked. The doctor only nodded. The doctor went to Tenma to check his breathing and temperature. Tenma felt nervous. "Don't worry, I'll just check your breathing and temperature" the doctor assured him. Tenma nodded. After the doctor checked him, Tenma asked, "Why am I here exactly?"

"His condition is normal, he just lost his memories but all in all he's fine but he still needs the 2 month recovery" the doctor explained to Aki and Ichinose. Aki looked at Tenma. "What do you suppose we do now?" Ichinose asked. "Tell him the basic of his life like what his name is and where his born" the doctor answered. "Only the basic?" Aki asked confused. The doctor nodded. "Let him regain the others by himself" and with that said, the doctor left. Tenma grew more confused. "Uhmm, Mam.... Do you know what happened to me?" Tenma asked. Ichinose looked at Aki then nodded. Aki sighed but smiled a little.

"Yes, Tenma but like what the doctor said, you have to know that by yourself" Aki asnwered. Tenma nodded. "How about my name?" Tenma asked again. "You're name is Matsukaze Tenma and you we're born in Okinawa, Japan" Ichinose answered. "So that's where we are?" Tenma asked again. "No, we're in America and the reason is you have to find out" Aki answered. Tenma nodded and stopped asking. He looked at the window again, a lot of questions want to be answered but he knows that they have to wait.
