Maya POV
"Maya! Sweetie! How are you?" Lucas's mom pulled me into a tight hug, I hugged her back. I used to not hug back but now I do.
"Maya!" Lucas's dad called to me from his usual spot in his recliner in front of the television.
He was wearing his 'Texas State' jersey so that told me a game was on.
"So, what do we owe the pleasure of a visit from you?"
"Oh, Lucas is going to help me with some homework!"
"Well go right on ahead! You know where it is, right?"
Oh, she has no idea.
I didn't bother to knock on Lucas's door and when I walked in he was sitting at his desk focused on a Calculus problem.
I kicked of my shoes and jumped on his bed.
"Please, Maya, make yourself at home." he said sarcastically.
"So, what is it that you wanted from me? Your parents are home so...."
"Not, why your here by the way. I wanted to talk to you."
"About your..." I pointed to his jeans.
"No..." he turned red," I don't want to talk about that. I want to talk about why it happened."
"Friar, easy, I turn you on" I winked and made a sexual pose on his bed. I laughed.
Lucas walked over to his bed and say by my feet.
"No, there's more to this." He stared at the pictures of his family over his desk.
"ok..." I sat up.
"I think I do like you now, Maya. Like, like like. Like-" We both laughed.
We made it a joke between all of us that he said 'like' way too much.
"Like how I've liked you for a while now?" I suggested.
"Yeah." He fiddled with a loose strand on my jeans.
"well, it's not like we can start dating either." I looked down at my nails.
"We have waited long enough Maya!"
"A month and a half is enough time?"
"No," He looked at me,"3 years is enough time."
"That doesn't count, you didn't like me like that."
"You may not believe me, but I did, I just didn't know it." He looked at me sincerely.
I did believe him.
This time he kissed me.
But it was over too soon.
Although I knew we couldn't kiss too long or too hard, like I wanted too, because Lucas's parents were home.
"What now?" I asked.
"We do what we have been doing, I guess."
"That's really romantic!" I replied sarcastically.
"Ok, ok. But we still have to keep it a secret for know."
"I agree," I shook my head,"but no telling Zay this time."
"Deal."
It was already 7:15, but I didn't want to go home so I laid back down on Lucas's bed and turned over to my stomach.
I inhaled the smell of his bed. It smelled like his cologne.
"Why does your bed have to be more comfortable than mine Huckleberry?" I turned to face him. He was back sitting at his desk and he was looking at me now.
"Are we going to do homework or not?" He asked, raising his brows.
"I guess you don't know me that well." I closed my eyes and watching Lucas do homework.
At 8, he was done and we both sat on his bed playing Uno like 5 year olds.
"That's so unfair, are you kidding me?" He pleaded and pouted his lip.
"Pick 4 Ranger Rick!" I laughed evilly.
I ended up winning and I jumped of his bed and square danced to my own tune of "ha-hur".
I didn't leave until 9 and when we tip-tied out of his room to find both of his parents cuddled up on the couch asleep.
He walked me to my car and sat against my bumper.
"Bye, Lucas..." I walked up to him.
He pulled me in for a kiss and I have him the cheek.
"You have to earn those Huckleberry." I teased and opened my car door and started up my moms car.
When I got in bed at home I revived a text from Lucas that said:
'Goodnight Maya ;)'
I felt my cheeks heating up but I responded with:
'cliché asf!'
"Goodnight Huckleberry" I whispered to myself.

A/N:
