Maya POV

Life was about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Which i realize now is a bad analogy considering, as an artist, i actually love watching paint dry..

But that's besides the point, life was boring right now.

Riley was doing her shift at Topanga's.  And Lucas was away at a baseball tournament, so there goes the boyfriend option.

The only people I had to hang out with were Farkle, Zay, or my mother.

It was a snow day and instead of being happy that there was no school, I was moping over having no plans.

"Maya, I am in the kitchen, can you come down please?" Mom called after her knock on the ceiling.

I uncovered myself from many layers of blankets and slugged down the stairs.

What I found in the kitchen was a dining table full of my favorites.

Extra cheese pizza, light sauce. Buttery popcorn, tossed with chocolate chips. A bag of Swedish Fish, Milk Duds, and Sour Gummy Worms. And, of course, a large Banana Slurpee.

There had to be something up. There was no way that my mom got me all of my favorite junk foods, without there being something up. This was like her personal crisis raft.

"What's wrong?"

"Maya, sweetie, you really think I can't get you a few of your favorite things without there being something wrong?"

I gave her a look, just to make it clear I didn't believe her.

"Ok, sit down," She took a deep breath and fussed with a loose string on her scarf. "Shawn and I wanted to tell you together, but his trip got extended a week and I couldn't wait to tell you."

"Tell me what?" I scanned her face with clues as to what bomb she was about to drop on me.

"I'm pregnant." Her furrowed brows softened and the corners of her mouth turned to a smile.

"Really? Like I'm gonna be a big sister pregnant?"

She shook her head up and down, "Mhmm."

"Like baby bump, maternity clothes, building a nursery pregnant?"

"Yep."

"Oh My Goodness Mom! I'm so happy for you!" I jumped up and gave my mom a huge hug.

"Thank You Maya," She smiled back at me, "But one more thing."

"Yeah Mom?"

"Just because me and Shawn are having this baby together does not mean that you are less of my daughter or less of Shawn's' daughter. You will always, always be my baby girl."

She wiped a tear from her glowing cheek, as did I.

"I love you, Momma."

"I love you too, Maya."

"Now, what are we gonna do with all these goodies." My mouth watered as I looked back on all the food.

"Well Shawn isn't home so of course we are gonna have a Rom-Com marathon."

"Aww, Sweet!"

Despite what I used to think, my mom really does know me well.
