Lucas POV

Baseball tournaments kicked ass.

They were fun, but tiring. This time around it was even more fun.

I forgot how much nicer winter is in the south. I did NOT miss the snow.

But I did miss Maya.

I sat on the transit in the airport thinking about how the first thing I was gonna do is go and see her.

I didn't tell her when I was coming, just so I can show up at her apartment.

I already had it planned. I was gonna knock on the door, one single daisy in hand (her favorite, of course) and very suavely say, "Hey."

I walked through the gate watching my fellow passengers from my flight greet their loved ones as I kept an eye out for my mom.

"Hey Huckleberry.. jet lag looks good on you."

I turn to see Maya leaning on a pillar.

Her line was so much better than mine.

"Well Shortstack, everything looks good on you." I replied as I walked towards her slowly dropping my bags near her feet as I approached.

"Can't argue there." She gave me her signature smirk and almost immediately I scooped her up and gave her the kiss to make up for the two weeks I was gone.

We were like that for a while and I couldn't hate to think we were THOSE people. The thought made me laugh.

"Ugh I hate being a teenager." She whined as I finally let go.

I picked up my duffel bag from the ground and we walked towards the escalators to luggage pick up.

"Why do you hate being a teenager?"

"Well because two weeks is like two months in teenager time and that is a lot of time you were gone. I missed you like crazy you goof." She frowned up at me.

"Well that makes one of us."

She scoffed and stopped walking in her tracks.

I laughed, "Only kidding of course."

"Hahaha so funny. You better be kidding."

I just kept laughing and put my free arm around her.

"You know Luke, I'm the snappy one in the relationship..You can't have such good comebacks" She eyed me.

"Okay, Okay. Huckleberry remains silent."

"Perfect. Just how I like my men. Quiet and good arms."

"You say the sweetest things to me Maya Hart."

We played slide and other kiddy hand games while we waited for my luggage.

"Oh! I see it!" Maya ran towards the carousel and reached for my suitcase.

I waited in amusement for her to plea for help, knowing my suitcase was too heavy for her petite body to carry.

"I got this Lucas, gimme a sec.." She grunted and tried with all her might to pick it up, a line of other suitcases were beginning to file in behind mine. People began to look in distaste at her trial.

"Maya.. just.." I walked over, laughing, and picked it up with ease.

"I would have gotten it, ya know.."

"Yes, of course you would have." I chuckled and gave her a light kiss on top of her mane of blond hair.

"Come on, let's go home."

We finally got to the car and we waited out the hail storm that was happening outside.

Maya caught me up on everything that happened while I was gone and I bored her with details of my tournament.

We also caught up on other things as well.

The storm ended after 45 minutes and we drove into the city.

It was silent for 5 minutes while the radio played music lightly in the background.

"Well, I'm hungry." We both said nearly simultaneously, breaking the silence.

"Mario's?" I proposed, it became our favorite place, besides Topanga's to eat.

"I mean, where else?"

We spent the rest of the night eating pizza and just enjoying each others company.

See the beautiful thing about being with Maya is the fact that we were so comfortable with each other, that we never ran out of things to talk about.

Mario's was near a park so after we ate, we walked through the park, hand in hand.

I looked down at Maya who was looking up at the setting sun.

These past couple of months with her were beyond amazing.

"Maya?"

"Huh? Yeah?" She snapped out of her thought.

In that moment, she looked so perfect, I was so sure that I meant what I was about to say was as real as it could be.

"I love you Maya Hart."

She looked up at me, clearly shocked at what I had just said, but her face softened.

"I love you, too Lucas Friar."

I took her into my arms, embracing her waist as she put her arms around my neck and we shared a long kiss, the one that lingered long after it was over.

"Ahaha! Took you long enough Huckleberry! I was waiting for you to say it first for the looongest!"

And in that park, I knew, not only that I loved Maya Hart. But, also, that I would, for the rest of my life.
