Lucas POV
After he left Maya's heels clicked against the hardwood as we cleaned up.
"I can't do this." She sighed and sat on the couch.
I followed her over there and put my hand over her shoulder.
"Maya...."
"Lucas stop. That's making it worse." She pulled herself out of my grab.
"Making what worse?"
"This just got really complicated. You realize that right? I thought the only time we would ever was in Texas. And now that we did that. It's not going be the same." She looked at me wearily.
"Maya, it doesn't have to be complicated. I realize now what I want."
"Why do you know now? I know this is a fluke Lucas. You just broke up with my best friend."
"I like the feeling you bring me. That's all I know for sure."
"So what? I gave you some sort of sexual awakening?" Her mouth slightly smiled and she started to laugh quietly.
"I don't want to use you. And I'm definitely not the type of person who uses people, not in back in Texas." I couldn't bare the thought of using Maya like that.
"Why not? I mean it's not like I didn't enjoy it, I just have to put my feelings aside like always. And we can definitely not tell anyone what we are doing." She was grinning widely now.
"So what exactly is it that we are doing?"
"Come on Huckleberry, keep up. Every once in a while I pull you into a closet and we kiss a little and then we go on during our day. No strings attached. And no getting further than 2nd base." Maya laid out the conditions of our 'deal' and they didn't seem so bad.
"Ok, deal. And you can't tell anyone"
"Deal."
We sat in silence for another minute.
Maya broke the silence."Starting now."
Needless to say, we didn't close Topanga's for another 30 minutes.
