Lucy's Pov
"I was born in New York City but moved here around the time I turned three so I this is pretty much my hometown. Let's see," He fumbled with his words. "I'm eighteen, birthday is on August 7th. Your turn, cutie."
I ignore his last comment and start to ramble off. "Born in Long beach, raised here. Seventeen years old, birthday is on October 8th. Describe yourself in three words."
He accepted my challenge and spoke,"Intelligent, sophisticated, and charming. I see you're self-contained, you lack confidence, therefore, I won't ask. How important is family to you?"
I take a deep breath and sigh, did this specific question have to come up? "My mother and I seem to be close, at times. My siblings and I tend to argue but we know we still love each other at the end of the day." My voice gets softer for this next part. "My dad and I don't have such a good bond as father-daughter. Um. Do you have siblings?"
Jake grasped my nervousness and decided to not pressure it. "One sister in Washington and a step-brother here. My dad remarried." Now he was the one who got uncomfortable with family questions. "How about we save the rest of these questions for later and dance?"
"Actually," I check my phone for the time. "I have to be getting home soon. House rules."
He looked disappointed at first but then his face lit up. "I could take you. If you'd like."
"Thanks but that isn't necessary." I smiled, "I drove here." He nodded and I started to walk passed him but he calls out after me, "Shoot me a message when you get home, cutie." He hands me a small paper with his number on it. Did he already have that prepared?
I slid the paper into my purse and nod not sure if I would really message him. I hardly know the dude.

"Your home twenty minutes before your curfew." Dad smirks, clearly satisfied with my ability to obey commands. I feel a wave of shivers travel down my back, "Yes, good night."
I scurry to my bedroom and lock the door again to change out of my dress and pull on some pajamas so I could climb into bed and cling onto my blankets.
Before laying down, I grab my phone and insert Jake's number to my contacts and send him a message, "I'm home."
I wasn't going to message him but part of me felt bad for him. What if he would have waited all night for my message?
Nah, he has better things to do then wait for my notification. I receive a response immediately, "Thank you, beautiful. Sweet dreams."

"Did you like Jake?" Daisy comments causally after she swallows her sporkful of salad. She acts as if her plan was brilliant.
Fort those who don't know, a spork is half spoon and half fork, the ones that the school cafeteria hands out. "That wasn't funny, Daisy." I note seriously. I wasn't mad just uncomfortable with her plan of setting me up with a cute stranger.
"Hello, beautiful." Jake snuck up behind me. Everyone at the table smirked, giving me odd looks.
"Hello, Jake." I greet, facing him. Jake sits down in the available spot next to me and says, "How you been?"
The girls make up fake excuses in order to walk away. Before I knew it, it was just me and Jake at the table. "You do realize that I saw you Saturday, right? And on Sunday you messaged me nonstop."
"Indeed I do." He smirks, scooting his ass closer to me. My eyes are now looking into his. "Your eyes are magnificently beautiful." He compliments, I blush.
Luckily, the bell rings, I grab my things and throw my lunch away. The bell always saves me. "See you around, Jake." I mutter softly.
Jake smirks, his famous smirk. "I'll be counting the minutes, Lucille."
