What the fuck. "Does he really think we'd go?" Brenda scoffs, scanning the invitation again. "Especially you, Lucy. Daisy will obviously be there, how could he think you'd shown up?"

I shrugged, "I'm not going."

Jules pulled her lips off of her boyfriend and turned to us. "I think you should. It'll possibly ruin his day." Ever since Jake cheated on me with daisy, Jules has been oddly kinder. I think she feels bad for me but others think she could have had a change of heart - like the grinch.

"Yeah!" Brenda beamed, "We could scoop you up a handsome date and he'd be furious!" Daisy is already going through what I went through so maybe now it's Jake's turn? That's evil.

I mentally shake my head. I can't.  "I really don't think I should. Going to his party would be like I forgave him when I didn't."

Brenda shook her head. "You're going and we are going to find you a date." She had this evil smirk on her face that made me shut up. I knew I was not going to weasel my way out of this party.

♡♡♡♡

We spent all weekend searching for my date but we didn't find one. Brenda found her date at the mall, which is the first place we looked in. It's Saturday now and I still don't have a date for Jake's party. I already had permission to go since Brenda made sure my parents allowed me so now I couldn't bail.

I slipped on the dress Brenda gave me as a gift and drove to the party after I met Brenda and her date at her house.

"Should we all take one car or will I follow you?" I ask once I see that there are three cars: brenda's, her date's and mine. Brenda smirked, "You're riding with us, I wouldn't want you to escape."

I mentally groaned and hopped in her car while her date got to ride his own car.

We struggled to get parking since the party was packed with Jake's guests. We spent three minutes in the car looking for one until we spotted an available parking space.

Jake was the first to see us enter, "Lucy! You came!" I rolled my eyes at his enthusiasm. I could only hope he was wasted, although he probably isn't. I didn't greet him, I simply nodded my head in acknowledgment. Brenda spoke for me, "She's just waiting for her date."

I eyed her. She didn't have to lie, as the party progresses he'll see I didn't have one. Jake scowled and continued on his way to greet his other arriving guests.

At least he got mad, I smirk.
